akkarin, dagger directive has a working OICW and shit like FPV drones rn. It's styled like a late 90s delta force game, but with arma 3-style backpack and equipment. Did a run where I took OICW and everyone else just took an M4 and a shitload of spare mags, we just airbursted every enemy we saw with impunity.

Reminds me of the time every futuristic FPS had a XM8, good times haha. Now I only need an OICW for all the retro futuristic gear I loved

this is mad cool, been a huge XM8 glazer since Bad Company, interesting seeing it in the hands of modern CIA spooks, like a view into an alternate reality.

Thank you @AQUΛRIA! And thank you for those corrections, too. The OICW project was definitely my favorite of the failed attempts to replace the M4/M16.

The second they announced the G36 and the SDK, I knew it was only a matter of time before an XM8 hit the workshop. Bravo, Prodigy. This scratches a very particular niche I have, thank you. Also not to be the "erm, acchually" guy, but someone pointed out that the mounting system on the XM8 is "H-Key". It is not. The XM8 used the proprietary "PCAP" or Picatinny Combat Attachment Points, which actually predates every modular slot based accessory attachment system on the market today. The accessory package was provided by HK themselves which included a foregrip and a flashlight. It is also worth nothing that the XM320 was not part of this system and was instead its own carbine length hand guard. Its really worth looking into if you're interested in a fairly major but overlooked stepping stone in firearms development. A lot came out of the OICW/XM8 project.

I want to play that game's campaign again. Hopefully there'll be a BOII Remastered down the line somewhere in the future. Which might happen from what we're hearing, but who knows. Damn I want to play BOII again so badly. It's your fault, you made a mod for the XM8, made it look like the M8A1 from BOII, but made it look like that it should have been in MW3(2011 not 2023).

Right? Just without the (in my opinion) terrible 4-round burst they gave it in MP. I think the campaign one was full-auto, though.

Btw, the full-length version of the XM8 in this mod gives me BOII vibes.

Hey, love your mods, fantastic as always. Just wondering, would it be possible to use the in-game G36's sound effects for the XM8 instead of the M4A1's? I thought it would make more sense since they're both closely related.

Yeah, sorry. I made note of that with my first comment. Thanks for letting me know what they're called, though! That should make finding reference for adapters easier.

I had seen mention of someone having a TommyBuilt XM8 with M-LOK, but the picture link was broken. And Tommy's site seems to be mostly gone, so I couldn't confirm. I think I finally found a picture and it's just M-LOK in place of the H-KEY. Oops. For the time being, I'll just move the rail slots down to there and people can use the MLOK adapters there.

So, for using attachments on the side rails, it looks like you've got things attaching to the vents, and not the H-KEY slots (the block circle things). Just a QOL thing.

@JayPix1992 Haha. Turns out it's easy to mod a G36 that's wearing different clothes once the G36 blueprint became available.

I'd say this thing is way better than the M7 system. Besides the whole OICW and Future Soldier projects are so cool.

Not really a requirement, but I do recommend using ModernLancer's MLOK adapters for the slots above the proprietary XM8 mounting points. Some picatinny adapters may be included for those eventually, but that's the solution I suggest for now.
