i think the other players items being deleted when you choose to replace one would be fine, if everyone had access to the items. being locked to 2 items, and losing a good item because the others dont benefit from it in any way sucks. i would just say make it so everyone benefits from the items other people have and it would be much better, and actually make you strategize what slot to replace as items in that column will be removed for everyone (that way you arent just fighting over item slots), or just add a setting to remove the item sync altogether.

hey so IDK if this is a bug or what but it SEEMS that when i used a yum heart the person in my session didnt get the effect, however when they used the necronomicon it worked in my instant

* Cosmetic mods should be no problem at all.
* Character mods are not supported at all currently, though that might change with the addition of letting people specify their own characters instead of just using the predefined one for a room.
* Item mods is a much trickier thing -- passive/active items you have on your local modded instance of the game will work, for you, however will not be represented with the appropriate image in the quick view HUD for others -- it will however show them an unknown item icon, so they can tell it's different. For custom pickups like hearts, pills, and cards, this can cause issues -- the shared healing will not work for the other players, and there is a potential for the shared effect from custom cards/pills to not trigger an effect (and due to how the modding environment works, there is a potential it crashes the game due to not having the right id on the other instances). There's much work to do in this area to make it better.

@anklebiter Sorry to hear that; though it is meant to be a bit of a challenge. That being said; you have quite a bit of control over what settings are enabled to change the difficulty of the experience. That being said, I am adding some changes in an upcoming release to add more options to allow toning down the item sharing aspect of it for those who don't want that part of the Soul Link experience.

I don't like this mod and I feel like being annoying about it. The item sharing system feels unnecessarily punishing and you can just abuse your teammates too much with it, the functionality of everything seemed fine but it was literally like playing a much weaker tainted isaac who constantly picked up and lost health from seemingly nothing

The below player is incorrect; not a single instance of Curse of the Cursed was ever sent to a single connected client, which would only be possible if someone used the proper seed to make it happen in the first place, since the mod won't work in a challenge.

@Cheezer5588 During the room creation step, the host can select a player to play as; currently all players are playing as the same character though -- working on adding functionality for each player to choose which character to play as.

As for REPENTOGON compatibility, please top bothering this mod author about it...REPENTOGON changes the lua version to 5.4, which is not compatible with the bundled socket library that the game uses when luadebug is triggered, so any mod that uses luadebug and the bundled socket library wont work with REPENTOGON.
Will this ever be solved on RGON's side?, probably...but it's far from a priority, since the use of luadebug is not something we want to encourage or support in any shape or form, since it poses way too many security risks.

@kitsune-san Repentogon has an issue with the lua socket implementation, so will crash the game if luadebug is enabled and a socket is created.

The revival machine doesn't actually take the tier in to account when selecting a slot; it does however prefer a slot that both players have something occupied in - then falls back to a slot that the player using the machine has occupied, and then finally, it chooses a random one. The slot number is changed on a per floor basis.

Happy to listen to suggestions on balancing options.

i got another friend to play it with me, and the first run was alright, item slot limitation was oppressive, second run we unlocked the slot restriction and discovered that the revive mechanic chases the survivor's highest tier item. pickups were not shared but healing and card/pill effects were. it seems like a nice mod with just a bit too unbalanced/fair

my friend can't get the game to launch without crashing immediately when he uses --luadebug. he has repentagon and fiend folio so that's probably what's causing the issues but he's reinstalled the game and everything

@supah I don't believe so currently, but have not tested nightlies in a while. It all depends on sockets working in REPENTOGON. I have a DLL mod to fix it previously. I'll test at some point again.

after the new update if i create or join a lobby i can't move my character or put the game in pause.

After a regrettably long delay, the new 1.8.0 version has launched -- this should fix all connectivity issues, and, brings lobbies native in to the game. Please report any bugs to the Discord (or here). This will no longer rely on the browser for creating a new lobby, and will also solve the browser issues people have had.

had an issue where the site wont create a new lobby and says "Having trouble connecting. Please unpause the game and try again."
The solution is that Brave Browser doesnt work with the mod and you should use something else like Edge, seems like a pretty common scenario should maybe go in a FAQ or something lol besides that fantastic mod

Sometimes when playing with this, the revive machine simply doesn't work. Like, it tells us a slot to "spend" to revive, we all have items in said slot, but for some reason touching it doesn't do anything, any idea as to why that'd be happening? maybe a mod incompatibility, or is it just a random bug?

@Stormy The Lucky Foot issue will be fixed in the upcoming update -- let me look in to the Eden one, hadn't had that one reported yet

oh also, small problem with cain, for some reason, lucky foot does not work whatsoever, you still get bad pills in multiplayer, and also for eden, sometimes when you play him, you just die instantly for no reason, most of the time it happens if you only have soul hearts basically.

@DickoRomanticko - I will have an update coming out sometime over the few days with a bunch of bug fixes, and a complete rework of the connectivity to introduce lobbies and room creation directly from inside the mod -- this will fix that issue!

@Stormy -- so, it won't prevent it from working, but, currently the mod and server does not know about other players modded items -- it will take up a slot as normal, but it will not show what it is to the others. I do plan on adding compatibility for that - but a much bigger update is coming first.

Reskins etc will all work without a problem though.

I'm working on a bunch of updates for the mod -- the main feature will be a lobby system built in to the mod - no need to open a browser window. This will making joining public or private sessions a lot easier, as well as finding players to play with.This will address some of the common issues people are encountering as well.
