I actually have a pretty cool idea for Tainted Joseph.

Joseph
"The Jester"
Has below average stats all around, but starts with Scrawl, Starter Deck, and Psychokinesis (new Q4 Active, infinite uses).
Cards shall bring blood...

Basically, instead of Enchanting cards to yourself or using them, any card you pick up can be consumed by Psychokinesis, and for that room, you will have an extra Ludovico tear alongside your regular tears that is automatically controlled towards different enemies (called a PsychoLudo tear), and has different effects depending on the card you consume, along with those effects stacking with multiple cards being used. Additionally, it isn't just Arcana, but ANY Vanilla cards (along with potentially Modded cards with cross-mod compatibility) that can be used for this.


This is just a quick idea, let me know how you may feel about this, okay?

Unlock Suggestion: in line with the other character's golden unlocks, an eventual Tainted Joseph unlock could be a Golden Card, which could shuffle into another card of its kind on a room clear.

Also, I noticed that there doesn't seem to be a unlock for Mega Satan yet, do you plan on doing something for that? I wouldn't mind if it's a Tainted-style new feature...as I don't think anyone would be interested in unlocking a Co-op Baby. :p

@Yourname942 At some point, yeah, I'd like to give Joseph a tainted form. What that will actually look like I'll won't say this time, but to immediately shoot down a common suggestion, No the Card based character's tainted version will not be Pill or Rune based .

@arsongod if you have Mother defeated before downloading the mod, he'll be automatically unlocked in the respective save file on start up.

@hweaver888 Joseph is the only one who can enchant cards as is, but other characters can use enchanted cards too if they have the card sleeve item.

loving Joseph and all the unlocks, has the potential to be one of the big character mods like sameal and the sheriff, an idea for tainted Joseph is potentially unable to get effects of consumables (cards, pills, runes, etc.) but gets a small permanent stat up for each one he uses, like candy heart for the q slot.

well, here's to hoping! it'd be amazing to have him have some sort of cool effect for the birthcake. also another idea is maybe give him a synergy with tarot cloth (or maybe make birthcake give the cards tarot cloth effects instead perhaps)

Let's just say, Joseph sure is something. I can't tell whether it's the fact that the French are incapable of playing him, or if it's the cape, but Joseph stand out as an inspiration to us Amazon employees. While we stay put under the regime Joseph is out on the front lines fighting for what really matters, persevering even in the most difficult of situations, such as not having enough money to purchase toys and trinkets from the shop(relatable to those of us who buy anime figurines and fumos). Furthermore, Joseph shall stand as a martyr for Damocles, showing him that all that glitters may be gold, but temptations aside it's worth dying for.
