this is a weird idea
it's Tug of War that's afraid of its own mechanic so it has a KOTH timer thrown in to appease people who don't like Tug of War?

i got a chance to play this in a community server, and i can't say i'm a fan of how the scoring mechanics work

in standard koth, the short 3-minute timers make sense because the point changes hands so rapidly and so often. in this mode, though, capping is just a much slower process! if the cart makes it even a short way onto your side, and then you clear it off, it can still take over a minute just to push it all the way back to mid and then wait for the little turntable to spin around, all the while the enemy team is still earning progress on their timer! even the slightest advantage can burn through a huge portion of the timer.

it's like a snowball effect version of koth, where for every second one team holds the point, another second is added to the time it takes for the other team to cap it back, resulting in the winning team holding it exponentially longer! without the whole payload cart theming, i don't think anyone would play that for a second.

maybe you guys could do what dynammite did and redo the layout to be symmetric? is a cool concept but i feel we already got a gamemode like that and is called TOW

Alright yeah I confirmed it. If you do mp_waitingforplayers_cancel 1 in console when starting it actually breaks it, at least on my end. When you go the cart it just stays still. Not sure if that's something you guys or valve would fix if it were added and it's pretty minor.

Super solid visuals on this one though, I love it.
