However, the revisions to the previous backstories have been MASSIVE (full details are in the changelog).
I also have a number of completed backstories that haven't been released yet. I'm planning to give them some final tweaks before adding them. The majority of these are for the 'Offworld' origin (the most common spawn type, typically all your colonists will be "Offworld").
Furthermore, I'm looking to create new backstories specifically for the Empire faction. This update removed many of the new spawns that weren't Imperial-exclusive, and I want to better differentiate the core RimWorld tech with the Empire's unique background.
This is the only time I have done something that might cause trouble if you had a colonist with the backstory of "botanist apprentice". It was a fairly new backstory, so the chances of it are really low (I hope).
But with that said, it's not out yet. I suppose I'm just pessimistically speculating.
I mean... won't you be able to play them anymore? God, thank goodness I haven't been making new backstories for them, lol.
If that's the case, I'll adapt many of those backstories to the regular pool.
If they remain a separate faction, I'll leave things as they are.
Thank you to everyone who supported this mod and gave it SO much visibility. I'm almost embarrassed because for a long time there were some stinky quality backstories and nobody complained. What a nice public.
I'm actively working on improving the ones that ended up being too convoluted or shallow, but to be honest most of them are quite good right now.

I think maybe you can try to write some specific race-bonded backstories for races in Vanilla and Vanilla Races Expanded? Because I find that all of them are still rolling backstories in vanilla rules, which makes many weird scenarios, imagine this -- a Hussar who need to take Juice or Luciferium to survive, generated with a poor tribe/medieval backstory...
I have tried hard to find if there is any backstory mod on this, but found none.
