" The way ai boost when player is defending works cannot be changed or tied to your progression through campaign. Its will be either high to preserve challenge in mid and late game, through making early game extremely hard, or will be mediocre and boring in mid to late game."

These are the kind of QOL things I wish the devs would pay attention. Making up for poor AI by flooding the zone turns the game into a chore.

Are there reported issues with this? Whenever I run this, an error diologue box displays and then kicks me out of the game. Happened 3 consecutive times.

I only won the day two defense after 1118 russians died, and their assault didn't even end when the points made it to 1500, it is possible if you juggle squads and invent heavy in supply units

First defense mission, killed 857 enemy infantry and 56 vehicles. It felt like the Germans were banzai charging me with convicts and Osttruppen. I don't know how the rest of this campaign will go.

@warriorandtoaster I decided to try the mod despite what I saw on your comment and I can say the exact same now, tried a Germany VS USA campaign, offensive mission went great then the defence came and genuine dozens of US Half Tracks and hundreds of infantry storm my positions with zero strategy besides mindless blobbing which clearly outfavours the player.

I took two ammo carts (which ran out halfway through the battle, and if it weren't for the defense being on Hill 400 (terrible line of sight and approaches for the attackers) I probably would've lost. The forest was littered with stranded weapon teams that bugged out on approach and made it impossible to sweep the field afterwards for looting and salvaging, and the entire time we were catching mortar shells that miraculously didn't kill as many of my troops as I expected. It's absurd, especially since this mod originally had the difficulty changes baked in.

I run my campaigns on medium economy, is that why I feel outnumbered and outgunned constantly? Otherwise, I really want to see how people experience this first set of missions because at worst it feels completely untested.

Look, I legitimately want to know how you even finish the first defense mission with this mod: the difference in enemy counts between your very first offense mission and your first defense is absolutely massive and makes me wonder if anyone actually has won a round of defense legitimately.

With the update saying that you tweaked tech progression and unit counts so the first defense wasn't as much of a slog, I decided to try this mod again. I played without the now-separate difficulty submod (that's a whole other can of worms), and while the recent update did make it so you're not fighting Pz3s from the outset, I still had to fight an enemy attack practically triple or quadruple in model counts from vanilla.

Mod was great before but now, second mission, the ai throws ATLEAST 10-15 tanks and endless amount of infantry which makes it unplayable.

The most effective method I have tried so far is to use an infantry-based combination in the early stage (Mortar AA AT Infantry [Legion with high recovery ability] Supply), but it is still very difficult afterwards.

After all, even in the easy mode, the enemy AI's hit rate increased by 150%, which is equivalent to the accuracy of the original difficult mode.

another thing is, enemy troops, will literally take a he shell directly from a tank and not die, this is the cheapest enemy troop, in the first round, meanwhile the entire player troop unit will die to the smallest breeze.

okay here is some stuff, that happened, played without this for a little while to test the differences, and the main issue, is that the enemy npc will take down so many of the players troops, and all the players troops would take forever to respond they just aim and dont fire, the enemy npc will literally wipe out an entire squad, and the players troops will just sit there and stare they will not fire back, they just aim, they do so little damage, the enemy is so spongey. and there is so many of them.

this doesnt happen normally.

yeah, even when its on the easiest difficulty, the enemy will have more units, more health, and more accuracy.

I agree with chryssjanzonio, in first person I am shooting guys so many times before they die. They seem like super humans with iron skin. Apart from that I like lots of your other changes, like armor penetration values, extra maps, bigger radius for medics and ammo carts, lots of good things there.

there is too many enemies in the first mission, they are also very spongey and do a ton off damage.

can you make a mod where its just the new maps.

at first battle they have access only to stage 1 units, which are basic infantry and light armor, they'll unlock more troop types from second battle and so on

Are there supposed to be hundreds of infantry, 50% having AT rifles, and a dozen armored vehicles spawning in 20 mins for the Russians on the first battle? Is it some sort of glitch or is this just how the game is? I really like the mod but whats with the AT rifle spam and impossible difficulty to start off with.

Yeah this first defense mission is absurd. I even had the diff on easy and removed the mod's changes in the difficulty, beelined ZiS-3s for the Pz3s I knew were coming, camped one point in the corner and it still wasn't enough with my troops dying off at 1000/1500 tickets to win (and I would've been unable to reinforce them all since I wouldn't have had the time to salvage all the German vehicles left over)

still the same amount of issues i had when i stopped playing this mod, except now when i play German against Russia in base game osftront maps i get a defend mission on west front maps? my mp40 takes two full mags and doesn't kill an at rifle but he one shots my guy, this is all found on easy mode btw, do you have a discord or something? i want to genuinely show you how busted this looks because even when you explained it last time it does not feel remotely right.

mod is okay, but m8. first defence is impossible. they get PZ3-s at start already and with russians you cant do ♥♥♥♥ against it. maybe lower spawn of bots, bit toooooo much of them at start of game. okey for later game but for start its impossible to roll

Yeah, youre right about that. I'll reverse AI resources to those from older versions. Recent increase was done to prevent ai from running out of resources on attack, but it can be done in other, more proper ways like attacker and cp modifiers

At present, with my operating ability, I can survive with the Blue Army, two or three MGs I picked up, two 3.7mm anti-aircraft guns, and large indirect firepower.
A large number of anti-tank guns make early tanks of little use

I really wanna like this mod, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, the enemy get a ridiculous amount of stuff, to the point of comedy. How exactly are you expected to beat hundreds and hundreds of enemy infantry with relatively small calibre HE and extremely limited resources?
