I've never understood why CA didn't add this feature. Garrisons are military units too—they should be subject to redeployment. Nice work, you've changed my gaming experience.

@mcsuppe base game settlements can reinforce (this mod doesn't change that range) but this mod allows them to themselves to be the main force (not reinforcing force) attacking an enemy and this range is about 3* as large as the reinforcing range

Cool, thanks for the info. How hard would it be to set up, in the MCT, adjustable: sally out range, and (I know your mod doesn't touch this) garrison reinforcement range? That would be awesome if possible! For me the sally range feels a bit too big and the reinforcement range too small and I feel like it could be 2/3 or 3/4 of sally range?

Yes, it works in forts, bastions, and gates as well. I don’t usually play with SFO, but in theory, changes like that are applied globally, so it should also affect the distance at which garrisons can join as reinforcements.

And I see that SFO increases the reinforcement range (sorry I didn't check that before). So would SFO increase the range at which garrisons can join as reinforcements (when using SFO and this mod)?

If you mean Ogre camps, then no, since Ogre camps are technically armies, not settlements.

Thanks! The reinforcement mechanics are the same as in vanilla — garrison armies will only reinforce if the attacked army is very close to the settlement. The sally-out range does not affect the range at which the garrison can join as reinforcements.

Amazing mod. Been using this for a while now. Makes the game feel so much more fluid. Not having to move one of your main armies to deal with some small army that is just on your land is so nice. Can just kill them with the garrison.

This might be more suited for a submod rather than an update to this one, but would you consider tying this "sally out" mechanic to having the "watch building" (+discoverability, -corruption) building in the region/province? Would be neat to finally have a viable, impactful use for it

This has been a fun little addition to my campaign. Using Malakai I'm battling waves of chaos hordes from all the factions, waiting patiently for kislev's armies to come north and help. Having garrisons help me chase down enemy armies is awesome, especially with landmark mods that add unique garrisons.

Glad you’re enjoying the mod. In my tests, I was able to get reinforcements during a sally out. If it’s not working sometimes, it might be because the reinforcing army isn’t close enough to the enemy target to be included in the battle.

Absolutly amazing, the only problem I had is an inconsitency where I can sometimes reinforce the garrison in a sally out attack with a lord in the settlement and sometimes can't

Wow, I actually hadn’t noticed that myself—great catch!
Yeah, your theory makes a lot of sense. It does seem likely that the garrison is still getting settlement defense autoresolve bonuses even when sallying out.
At the moment, I’m not able to tweak that behavior directly since that part of the functionality was ported over from Ataman’s system without major changes.

Great mod! I noticed that garrisons seem to have some extreme autoresolve bonuses when sallying onto the map. On VH campaign difficulty w/ no combat stat modifications they can autoresolve kill LL lead armies with double their numbers (for example a level 3 minor settlement garrison vs level 30ish skarbrand with 20 units) when an equivalent player army would get a valiant defeat in AR. I also notice that it does not happen when I have "remove minor settlement battles" enabled. Is it possible the garrisons are getting settlement defense AR bonuses even when attacking? Or is it just normal Lizardmen autoresolve bias?
