You can also attach i to one of your ships easily (it just has one hardpoint). You can also modify or remove the floats for this. Just make sure to move the microcontrollers in the floats first.

There is a water level gauge in the diving bell. The red marker shows the current cabin water level, while the white mark shows the "target" water level. So the automated system is trying to achieve that level. So it needs to flood a little bit so that the water is "sealing" the moonpool and air is not escaping to the ocean.
