I went thou the code and then did a quick play-test using just my mods its working just fine on my end granted i found a error i did have in the coal only dropping 1 instead of 3 so thanks! the only thing i can think of causing this issue would be another mod that alters the ore walls in the game since i changed them to drop the then chunk items instead.

I changed the drops not the real rates i.e iron ore would drop iron ore walls, I made it drop iron chunks that works just like the original item in the furnace except they cannot be placed back down as walls thus duping the it. I will go over it real quick i never used it myself to double check. also if u happen to have a mod that effects ores in the game they will conflict

seems to not work? drop rates are being 1 on everything and no chunks listed?

Well you can now craft the original Iron ore in the Wooden Simple Workbench for 3 iron chunks this will allow the task to be complete

i will just update it in next hour or so where u can craft the old walls which is also the old ore

There's a scene that spawns with a goblin with a pickaxe, and that still drops 1 ore, which lets you pass the quest

possible. but the chunks was the only way to avoid duping like the other rate increase mods .i may look into a workaround later

Pretty sure this mode makes the tip quest in the top left to mine metal, not completable
