I initially wanted to comment when the ship was released but wanted to try it first. Then I got lost in customizing it to suit my needs, then I started using it, and now three months has passed and this remains the longest Capital Vessel that I have ever had the pleasure of flying (and still flying)

Psst, I don't use it for mining. REALLY GOOD JOB, Atriace :steamhappy:

Favorite ship by far, interior is great, you put so much detail into this, the charts were such a nice touch. Very slick, look, will be using for a long time.

But you need some Advanced Constructors in it, the Universal Constructor is to slow for mass production: Ammo, Fuel etc.

Dude the work put into this! It seemed great, but then I turned on low power mode and you had a damn ramp cover and tell me the ones offline due to low power mode?

That's crazy. Little touches like this elevate builds more than I can even say. Great job!

It *just* about fits on the top of my newly-minted Perses CV4, so Creative shows me! Now to start pillaging Abandoned POI's so I can afford it..

Serwincent: There are a lot of viable shield configurations, but only 1/9 configurations will actually charge. RNTZH690 is correct that a balanced capacitor & charger configuration is viable, however, it is a balancing act between four things:
- Hitpoints
- Recharge time
- CPU cost
- Power draw

If you look in the medium shield booster room, there's a handy table outlining the number of S mall, M edium, or L arge boosters required and the resulting recharge time in Seconds, HP, CPU, and Kilowatts of power it produces.

@Adam's WOG: I'm just someone who likes Sci-Fi; I think I err on aesthetics, so my builds may not be the best, but I am trying to be a better designer. I still have more to learn.

@Endacer: I'm glad you like it! Ente does some excellent work; he's quite a prolific builder.
I've never heard of a CV Furnace; what mod are you playing with?

You might not have the right balance of Charge and and capacity. you need equal amount of chargers and capacitors

I used your skiff starter CV this play through as well. Between that, and this, I am dying to see what you could do with an end-game combat battleship CV. Maybe size class 8-12 or so?

Absolutely loving this ship. Only made minor changes, my server doesn't allow universal constructors, so switched it out for a CV Furnace, which they do. Changed the hull color to a cobalt blue to fit my liking. Other than that everything is mostly the same. Have a fully upgraded version I got into game this morning. Switched over from Ente's Exhumer, which i've used for years, updating through versions. Love the aesthetic of the ship, love the turret layouts, interior is gorgeous and spacious, and you can tell you spent a ton of time on all of it, even the signals etc. Absolutely amazingly well done, even the pages presentation is exceptional.

BTW, I thought I should let you know about a few missing textures. There is one small corner on the top of the ship near the middle, if your looking towards the back from above the drills. Also, the rooms with the Standard Plasma Turbines are missing some.

I was actually just about to try and redo the armor myself by converting everything to Carbon and then adding it back where it's needed. This new version should make my job quite a bit easier. Especially if you replaced the Xeno and fixed the textures. I shall check it out!

On an unrelated note, I actually came back here to suggest that you add a way to keep the Shield on in "Low Power Mode".

@ Crimson Alpha & JaegerLeo : I have just posted a light-est variant, the Scarab (Carbon) , which (as the name implies) sidesteps armor entirely for Carbon composite. This ship still needs a reduction of armor, but (due to time) won't be done for a while. Until then, I hope this will suffice. :)

I love the look of this ship but it has so much unnecessary armor that makes it extremely heavy. If it wasn't for that, I would totally be using it right now as a Core 9. It is obvious that you put a lot of work into this ship. So I apologize if this criticism is unwelcome. I just really wish the ship was quite a bit lighter since it checks all the other boxes of what I've been looking for.

this is inefficient because the asteroids don't deplete evenly on both sides, so you will always sit with some turrets not shooting. looks cool tho

Absolutely! I'm aware it's on the heavy side. While the front and explosive parts are protected with combat armor, if you only replaced all the hardened steel with carbon composite, it drops the dry mass in half to about 12kt. Dropping all armor, might get as low as 9kt I think.

I'll see about posting a non-armored the variant later (probably tomorrow).

Any chance you could add an updated lighter version? I understand it is supposed to be independent but I travel with my Stellar Endeavour and my Core 17 combat CV so I have no need for an armored miner and the design is too good to pass

It depends on your layout. All of the bottom turrets have visibility in the same direction, and all of the top turrets have visibility in the same direction. The 4 turrets (each side) to the hangar are the obvious exceptions, but it was designed with the idea that you'd sit in the middle of a asteroid field and reach in all directions with it.

The ship is both a functional, and aesthetic choice, but if what you're hoping for is a mono-directional miner, Purelukk has a refit of JRandall's Synth that might be more to your liking. ^_^
