The Scarab is a versatile deep space miner, designed for prolonged independent operations in hostile space. Its broadside turret arrangement allows simultaneous mining in both directions, with dedicated mounting points for ALL automated harvester turrets.



If you don't need the armor, see the Scarab (Carbon) for a much lighter variant.

The Scarab comes equipped with:
  • 8 Laser Drills for rapid excavation
  • 3 Light Modulated Turrets for drone defense
  • 7 constructors & 4 deconstructors enabling efficient on-the-fly ore refining
  • An Enhanced Teleporter for convenient trading, and automatic signals for shield toggling.

The Scarab is designed for gradual upgrades, supporting...
  • A fortified CPU room that supports all CPU upgrades, and will outlive the lifespan of your vessel.
  • Shield Boosters 8/6/4 (Small/Medium/Large)
  • Up to 38 turrets (7 large)
  • Up to 30/10/5 Cannons (Light/Medium/Heavy)
  • All Plasma Generators for efficient operations.
  • 4 Advanced Generator slots, and 1 Large Reactor slot.

It has a hangar to carry your planetary SV miner or to stow your faithful POI HV tank. Should you be blown from your cockpit (designed for mining visibility), a backup bridge at the stern ensures you stay in control in the heat of battle.

Versatile. Upgradeable. Colossal Cargo (8.2 Million Liters).

I initially wanted to comment when the ship was released but wanted to try it first. Then I got lost in customizing it to suit my needs, then I started using it, and now three months has passed and this remains the longest Capital Vessel that I have ever had the pleasure of flying (and still flying)

Psst, I don't use it for mining. REALLY GOOD JOB, Atriace :steamhappy:

Favorite ship by far, interior is great, you put so much detail into this, the charts were such a nice touch. Very slick, look, will be using for a long time.

Really nice Ship!

But you need some Advanced Constructors in it, the Universal Constructor is to slow for mass production: Ammo, Fuel etc.
