Would there be any compatibility issues with this Calorie Fix mod? I'd assume no since it deals with the burn rate while yours deals with the calorie values of items but I may be wrong.

You can make infinite mac and cheese by putting 1 box of mac and cheese into a carton of mac and cheese, than remove 6 boxes of mac and cheese getting 7 boxes of mac and cheese.

hello.
5,45 kg mature rabbit gave me 420 nutrition
and 0,5 kg little rabbit gave me 340 nutrition (i think this is too much)

There are a couple possible issues I've come across.
The first is the bag of chicken nugget thing, which I commented on in the pinned bug report. The gist of it is, by adding the "HungerChange = -60," to that item, it screws up the ability to open the bag and have it be used up properly.
The second issue is, pancakes seem to have way too many calories. 660 for a stack seems excessive when you consider that's for just the pancakes without toppings.
The third is, by changing the Hunger value of Butter, not only are you making most recipes use alot more butter than they probably should, but it results in Butter adding way more calories to an item than it probably should. Just as an example, adding butter to pancakes is adding something like 930 calories which is the equivalent of putting on 9 tablespoons of butter. And while I like butter as much as anyone, that seems like an a lot of butter.

Yeah the packing of food items into boxes still seems to be bugged I hate to keep pointing this out and sadly I've no expertise to help diagnose the issue :box::wololo:

I found a way to fix the fish calories bug!
in Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid\media\lua\shared\Fishing there is a file called Fish.lua
To fix the ridiculous amount of calories and encumbrance we only need to adjust the
local nutritionFactor = 2.2 * fishSizeData.weight / item:getActualWeight()
and
item:setActualWeight(fishSizeData.weight * 2.2)
I'm currently testing different ratios and comparing the in-game results with real life nutritional values calculated by AI models. Ratio around 0.5 seems to be balanced.
If D1F27 wants to implement this in this mod that would be great, if not I will make a separate mod and upload it to the workshop.

I noticed these two have very high hunger reductions:

item Dip_NachoCheese {
HungerChange = -40,
}

item Dip_Ranch {
HungerChange = -50,
}

I wonder if this is a typo because Dip_Salsa only has HungerChange = -4 which makes more sense for a dip.

Could you adjust fish calories? Right now they are way too high -- kind of kills the need to find any other food, once you can fish.

The fries are twice the calories of McDonalds supersized fries. I think they need a weight adjustment or have the packed bag of fries make multiple fries with less calories. Also, you can add ingredients to burritos and burgers found in the world and their calories can be reduced because of it. Added a bell pepper to a burrito and it lost 150ish calories.

Now I need to figure out the cooking systems. Any chance at adding simple MRE recipes for survivors on-the-go? Or will you leave that to other mods?

Hello folks!

Canned food-related bugs started appearing as soon as update 42.6 dropped. Some minor item-related change must have been made in the game files or code, causing canned goods to bug out. It was a really weird issue since this mod doesn’t modify any recipes in the game… so tracking down the root cause was a bit tricky.

Anyway, I just released an update that fixes it!

This mod has issues atm. You can open some food items many times 15-60. I also had an issue with buthering where I turned 1 rat into 22 butchered rodent meat.

Correction: Each UNIT of sliced bread counts as two slices of bread calories wise.

Bread calorie count seems a little low, you get three slices of bread when you cut up a loaf, which would seem accurate but you can make sandwiches with just one slice of bread, which means each slice counts as two slices of bread, so you need to modify the calorie count for bread slices to be 160 calories instead of 80.

ye ive noticed the same bug as @BOTMark, you can pack a single canned item into a box, and then open the box for 6 canned items. also, when i open a can of food, it gives me the opened can that i can eat from, but it also keeps the unopened can and just takes 1 from the hunger. For example, if i have a canned fruit cocktail (-15 hunger), when i open the can, i get the opened can with -15 hunger, but the closed can is kept, with a new value of -14 hunger.

This is excellent work, it basically makes the weight system work. It makes absolutely no sense that the only way to gain weight in this game is eating raw butter.
