Cannot wait for 1.6! Great mod

I saw a lot of potential in this mod, but when I tested the climate regulator in the game itself, I had a few questions. First, even though the temperature limit is -50, it only dropped to -34 on the map. Second, and this is the worst part, it doesn't have the same range as the vanilla one. The temperature only changes on the map where the regulator is located, without affecting other cells.

1) See description. I've just updated it to answer the question you're asking.

2) 1.6 is on the way but I want to code some failsafes that are important to implement, but as my coding experience is very limited I'm struggling to properly understand in how to code the failsafes. Therefore it might still take some time, but can't say whether that might be a week or multiple weeks or months even.

Why exactly does it need royalty dlc?

1.6 ?

This mod answered me everything:steamthumbsup:!

That is an interesting suggestion... Would be interesting to experience a faulty atmospheric adjuster and all tiles within a 20 tile radius change into an ice sheet... :') Regardless, I'll keep it in mind for the future, but no guarantees as coding makes me :steamsalty: at times.

This is awesome! If you do implement a tiered system, it would be cool if the top tier could actually temporarily terraform world map tiles like what happens with 'Vanilla Expanded Events' Ice age/global worming whilst the adjuster is active.

Would be awesome to actually turn a section desert world into shrub-land etc

@Bacteria: Good to hear you like it! The feature you want is something I would love to have as well ;), but the temperature is calculated in a very complicated way in Rimworld, and writing code that would constantly reevaluate and recalculate and re-adjust the temperature offset is something that requires much more coding experience and time which I don't have.
Bacteria 1 月 26 日 下午 9:05
I really like this mod! It would be nice if the temperature settings could be set to a specific level, like a constant temperature that would not fluctuate with time/seasons.
Atoombom007  [作者] 1 月 25 日 下午 1:58
No, the building can only change the temperature, nothing more and nothing less. And as far as I know there's already a mechanic where it starts to rain whenever there is a large fire. No on-demand rain yet though! ;)
chrismmar 1 月 25 日 下午 1:52
is there a way to make it change the weather? I would love to make one so I can make it rain whenever theres a big fire.

only asked cause while i dont own royalty i thought royalty only added the stuff mentioned on the page didnt know about the adjustment event lol
Atoombom007  [作者] 1 月 24 日 下午 1:34
Ideally I would not have it as a requirement, but I rather be safe than sorry.
Atoombom007  [作者] 1 月 24 日 下午 1:33
Royalty is required because the atmosphere adjuster is a variant of the in-game weather adjustment event where you can find a building that modifies the temperature. That specific event came from Royalty and not the base game, and as I am not sure whether or not using a piece of code from a DLC and then modding it, and using it as a seperate mechanic(?) without listing the DLC (where the original code came from) is legal, I figured it would be best to make Royalty a required DLC. It would be a shame for the mod to be removed and not being able to be used by others, and I would be the only one enjoying it, if Royalty wasn't listed as a requirement. More mods = more way to play the game = more happy people!
Cyberwolf 1 月 24 日 下午 1:15
why is royalty required ?

The mod is now more a proof of concept (which works... as of now), but I would like to expand the mod, making tiered climate control buildings, with each higher tier comes more options and more functionalities. I'm conceptualizing 3 tiers, but code-wise a lot has to be implemented of which I have little to no idea yet on how to achieve this. Might take a long time before any changes happen.

@a crazed gunman: good idea, thought of the same thing, albeit slightly different. I will take them into consideration.

@Deadler: no problem! I was surprised no one touched upon this before as temperature is one factor that might make gameplay much more unforgiving, as you already could change raid difficulty through the in-game storyteller and options. Changing temperature and weather might make Rimworld an even more relaxing colony sim!
Deadler 1 月 24 日 上午 7:38
I've been looking for a similar mod for a long time. Found a similar function in Reinforced Mechanoids 2, but it conflicted with some mod, because of which any change in temperature led to changes to +218000 or - 218000. everything instantly burned out or froze:D
Thanks a lot
a crazed gunman 1 月 23 日 下午 9:20
idea: Weather control should be the rudimentary one, confined to weather events that can happen in the current season. (i.e. no summoning blizzards in the middle of summer -- but you could summon rain in the middle of a drought, for instance)

Upgraded weather controller should allow you to set the weather + temperature on your own local tile to +20/-20 degrees of baseline, any weather regardless of season.

Spacer weather controller should have the big huge radius with diplomatic consequences for affecting the weather on nearby settlements and have the +/-50C range.

Eh, I don't know what CE is...

I was actually thinking about this, to actually control weather and temperature. However, due to my inexperience it might take a long time for this to be actually implemented. I was thinking to make it and upgraded version with a seperate tech tree maybe, as to prevent it from being totally OP from the get-go. But those are mostly ideas for now.

Looks cool! Think about adding advanced versions to control the weather? Like make it rain or foggy? Or even a solar eclipse? would love this for strategic warfare.
Vincenator 1 月 21 日 下午 5:20
is this CE compatible??!@?@!?!???!@?@!?
