Atmosphere Adjuster

描述
Introduction

By advancing your research, gathering the necessary resources and acquiring the necessary skills, you will gain the ability to construct an atmosphere adjuster. This will increase or decrease the map temperature at will by a max capped -/+50 degrees Celsius. It has sounds, it reacts to power loss, and it can be scrapped.

Current features:
  • Building that allows you to change temperature -/+ 50 degrees up/down

Why is Royalty required?
Royalty is required because the atmosphere adjuster is a variant of the in-game weather adjustment event where you can find a building that modifies the temperature. That specific event came from Royalty and not the base game, and as I am not sure whether or not using a piece of code from a DLC and then modding it, and using it as a seperate mechanic(?) without listing the DLC (where the original code came from) is legal, I figured it would be best to make Royalty a required DLC. It would be a shame for the mod to be removed and not being able to be used by others, and I would be the only one enjoying it, if Royalty wasn't listed as a requirement. More mods = more way to play the game = more happy people!

Future features:
  • Implement a way to set the temperature of a map to a fixed number. This will mean regardless of season, weather, freak event or whatnot, it will always stay 21 degrees Celsius within the radius of the atmosphere adjuster! Summer forever! --> not possible?
  • End weather events (cold snap/heat wave/et cetera) with cooldown
  • Change current weather with cooldown
  • Tiered atmospheric control systems, with each successor having an expanded feature set regarding the weather and temperature
  • Terraformation (in some sense): the successor of the highest tier of climate control systems, being able to change surrounding tiles of the world map into different ones and possibly changing the current biome or changing the planetary tiles
  • Freak events regarding the weather control stations and all their variants, like a switch of the current and surrounding tiles into an ice sheet, malfunctioning/sudden exploding control stations, freaks storms,

I saw a lot of potential in this mod, but when I tested the climate regulator in the game itself, I had a few questions. First, even though the temperature limit is -50, it only dropped to -34 on the map. Second, and this is the worst part, it doesn't have the same range as the vanilla one. The temperature only changes on the map where the regulator is located, without affecting other cells.

1) See description. I've just updated it to answer the question you're asking.

2) 1.6 is on the way but I want to code some failsafes that are important to implement, but as my coding experience is very limited I'm struggling to properly understand in how to code the failsafes. Therefore it might still take some time, but can't say whether that might be a week or multiple weeks or months even.

That is an interesting suggestion... Would be interesting to experience a faulty atmospheric adjuster and all tiles within a 20 tile radius change into an ice sheet... :') Regardless, I'll keep it in mind for the future, but no guarantees as coding makes me :steamsalty: at times.

This is awesome! If you do implement a tiered system, it would be cool if the top tier could actually temporarily terraform world map tiles like what happens with 'Vanilla Expanded Events' Ice age/global worming whilst the adjuster is active.

Would be awesome to actually turn a section desert world into shrub-land etc
