@Kouga , "Grenade Stack" is good only if you want to focus on only one grenade, like, if you want to carry multiple bile bombs, molotovs etc. The bug about the amount of grenade getting reset is because it uses ammo from the grenade itself instead of virtual inventory, & when the grenade is dropped, the ammo is reset.
As for interacting with objects when incapped, I'm not sure if that is possible or not. I ever tried to make a survivor rise from incap by himself when holding E, but the button was unresponsive. Probably I'll try that later after I solve that survivor's self revive problem.

ahh well worth a shot. i do use grenade stack because i have a bit more control with which grenades i get next, although there really is the bug persisting where the amount disappears if you pick up a different bomb. but thats another matter. could you instead make a mod where you can pick up items & interact with objects (using E) while incapped?

@Kouga , probably it's not possible to have same items on different slots like that. Actually there's also "Grenadier Mode" for carrying multiple grenades in virtual inventory.

@kurochama yeah but imagine switching them back and forth....or like be able to carry pipebombs molotovs and bile bombs on different slots... there havent been any that are able to produce stuff like

1) pipe pipe defib
2) defib molotov molotov
3) pills adrenaline bile bomb
etc...

im not sure if its because its impossibly hard or what but i think it would be one of the best mods out there if it were made

@kurochama hey! i have a mod request but i have a question: you know how you can reassign items and weapons to different inventory slots? well is it possible to assign a single item so that you can put them in 3 different slots? here is the idea: what if you could pick up a medkit, a defibrilator, and an ammo pack in the throwable slot, medkit slot, and consumable slot respectively? so instead of storing multiple items in a virtual inventory, you get a maximum of 3 free slots to choose what to carry. what do you think?

@Pedestrian , there's no chat command for now. & the item limit can go up to 10 of each items when maxed via cfg file (10 medkits, 10 defibs, 10 pills, & 10 adrenalines).

@Danielmaestro🔊 , bots somehow ignore the virtual inventory reset even when returning to main menu. Normally this one is solved automatically on mode 1 as mode 1 will reset the inventory of any survivors spawning in the map for the first time when starting a campaign, but at the same time mode 1 doesn't allow afk as somehow afk is counted as spawning. Mode 2 only resets when a player is disconnected to main menu, but bots ignore this rule. I can add another rule to reset inventory when replacing a bot, but I'm not sure if this will work well because going back to game after afk could be counted as replacing a bot. So, if the reset is applied when switching character, this might affect when player is back from afk. Probably I'll try to apply the fix on duplicate item bug when afk first, & then try to do something with switching character later.
For Grenadier Mode & Gun Collectors, those will be updated soon after mode 2 of this mod no longer has those bugs.

@kurochama oh ty, one thing if its possible: Im using a character selector to change into survivors from l4d2 to l4d1 and so on, but i notice when i change from the characters the items saved on the last different left 4 dead wont erase even if i get out of the menu screen.

Can you change the code to make the items erase from all survivors (l4d1 and l4d2) to make all the items being erased when i change into another survivor from another l4d?

@Danielmaestro🔊 , I think I can try to fix the duplicate item bug when afk with mode 2 on the next update. I got some ideas recently. So probably I'll try to implement it soon.

@Danielmaestro🔊 , I think it's possible to delay the timer when the afk player is back to the game. There are some event functions that check which players are replaced by bots & which bots are replaced by players. Probably I can try to use these to set the delay on the timer only when an afk player is back to the game.

@kurochama Yeah, the inventory storage is hard to not make it exploited even if the limit it's just 2.

Maybe a solution could be disable the afk mode (the option and time to wait until the afk mode) on the Original Virtual update system mode and enable the command: sv_pausable 1 (it could be disable on ems) and explain why this is the only way and put it on the title and description of the mod or something.

And keep the other Virtual update mode as an option without those changes just for testing.

@Danielmaestro🔊 , the original (when it's set to 0) is actually to fix the bugs on no. 1 & 3. The reason why I kept it as 1st mode instead of completely removing it was for this reason. The 1st mode works well as long as there's no afk, while 2nd mode allows afk but it can be "exploited" like what you mentioned (because changing maps without disconnecting first counts as afk, so when afk is allowed, the grenades will also be carried to the next map as long as player isn't disconnected to the main menu). I still can't find the most effective ways to fix the exploitable bug on 2nd mode.

@kurochama I test it and i found something interesting:

1- The items inventory storage will remain on different maps on campaing (example: i got 3 medkits on death center i can bring them to dark carnival with the same 3 medkits)

2- If you set for example 5 seconds, you need to keep those 5 seconds in check for every change of your inventory after and before the afk mode to have all your items in the same number, or they could increase or decrease.

3- Playing on survival will make the items duplicate for every afk mode you made, i think this is because the game decide to give you items at the begin of the round, the only solution i could find about this is disable the Virtual Update system but dont use the afk mode for any reason.

and thats the things i found, the 1st one sounds like a good mechanic but still...

@Danielmaestro🔊 , I just updated & changed the duration from minute to second. Now you can set the value to 5 for update every 5 seconds.

@Danielmaestro🔊 , btw while waiting until my next update soon, actually you can also reload a gun to update the virtual inventory when "Virtual Inventory Update Mode" is set to 1 or above. This feature is available only on this mode. So, before afk, you can reload your gun. That way, the number of healing items will be saved immediately.

@kurochama the VirtualInventoryUpdate its working, without it the bug still get effect, the only problem about it it's the refresh of the minutes of the inventory, because it will save the inventory long enough in my case:

I have 3 medkits on inventory on less of 1 minute, you use 1 medkit on this time you still have 2 remain but if you use the afk mode you will have the 3 medkits of the 1 minute remain, the script will refresh and basically you have unlimited items.

Maybe a solution could be make it refresh on seconds? like every 5 to 10 seconds?

@Danielmaestro🔊 , I updated with a new feature. "Virtual Inventory Update Mode". You can try to set this to 1, to make the timer update every 1 minute (it's based on the value, so if you set the value to 2, the update is every 2 minutes instead). The notification about this will show up on console instead with blue texts. This should solve the bug. But if the bug still happens, just let me know again.

@kurochama same problem, i tried with a lower number on ems config (3) and it erases the other objects on afk mode.

I think the timer could save every 5 minutes or the time you want on the ems config with notifications for every change.

@Danielmaestro🔊 , I added some new conditions by saving changes on virtual inventory when afk & back from afk. You can try it. If the bug still happens, then probably I'll have to add a timer to regularly save changes on virtual inventory every 30 seconds or 1 minute to solve it.

@Kurochama i tried without mods and it makes the same thing on idle mode, it goes back to only 1 and the other items are erased too.

I normally put on the ems config the limit of items at 10, i tried on survivor mode and campaing mode to test it and happens the same thing.

@Danielmaestro🔊 , I just updated it by slightly changing the mechanisms on virtual inventory reset. You can try it. Now the virtual inventory shouldn't be reset to 0 when afk. But let me know if this still happens.

@Danielmaestro🔊 , there's a mechanism to reset the item count to 0 when disconnected. This is actually to prevent survivors from having items in virtual inventory when starting a new campaign after being disconnected. Probably I can remove this mechanism later after implementing a new one.

I found a bug, sometimes for some reason if you enter on afk mode the items number will reset, and the other items that you saved will disappear, this happens with the grenadier mod too
