Hello everybody. I just want to give an honest status update as developer of this mod. I told you all happily "It'll be out early september", but here we are early October.

The truth is, I've had some situations going on in my private life and I couldn't find the creative energy to tend to Mission 6.

My realistic goal is to hand it to you before 31st dec 2025. Yes, thats a large window of time. But I hate setting dishonest expectations.

As the devs improve the Mission Editor, I hope that I can get it made easier to have ships/planes etc spawn in and attack you, instead of working with pre-spawns and long waypoints and hoping things time correctly.

Hello everyone. Currently am playtesting mission 6 for the silent element. After that feels right I will revamp the air element, the final piece.

12 missiles for 1 jet sounds wild. The technology was not that advanced; are u firing single salvos or at least dual salvos?

First mission needs more defence ships imo. Once i used like 12 missiles to kill a jet, very luck dependent

@KirbyMirror2 I appreciate the suggestion but at the same time I do wish for the mod to be as historical as possible whilst also being as close to the vanilla game as possible. So, I am basically working with the assets the official game gives me.

(I should note that I will not be opposed to Red Levant spin-offs/forks where NTU and/or other mods from the workshop are required components)

I think it is worth using New Threat Upgrade and Pact Enhanced Lethality now to enhance the historical accuracy of all missions. There are earlier refits of many major vessels now for late 60s to early 70s scenarios. So you can remove all Harpoon-armed vessels from the missions. Mission 4 still has multiple escorts with Harpoons, but you can use the 1965 Adams and Coontz as escorts to eliminate those. I have also noticed that USS Josephus Daniels is still the 1980s version as of now in mission 4.

The P-35 has extremely poor chaff resistance. The earlier missiles like Taratar and Terrier E will also help balance out against the P-35, making missile strike an easier option for the carrier.

@KirbyMirror2 - Yeah, but not that much. I don't have to much time. The good news for you is that I have a break planned early september. So, I aim to roll out Mission 6 by then. (so basically within the next 4-5 weeks)

Hello everyone, just a quick status update that Mission 5 is still in development. I am atm finishing it up, trying to get NPCs to spawn with a route :)

Thank you for the feedback! I personally dislike how in the editor I cannot set an AI from weapons hold to weapons tight, so I cannot directly influence their behavior.

That said, I will process your feedback in the mission. Expect it with the release of Mission 5 in 2025.

Good catch for those missions. The traffic in mission 4 I made to give the idea of a busy merchantile straight. But, I can refine it. (All merchant groups and airliners have 50% spawn chance, so maybe you just had the unlucky roll hehe)

As for the submarines, please note that they are not guaranteed, as I have made the captains answer differently to Soviet command every time you start the mission.

@Yumasai Also, for mission 1 (maybe 3 too), I would have the radars of your ships on from mission start. You can watch ryu1940's YouTube videos about EMCON for the reasoning behind this.

Merchant traffic in mission 4 is also excessively dense IMO. Not sure why so many ships are sailing in line. It's atypical of merchant traffic in many other scenarios, and there is no apparent reason for them to be in a convoy. And I would like to have all 4 submarines spawn the instant the mission starts.

Started playing the first missions. Really like the setting. Thank you!

During the first mission, according to the RoE, when I wait to identify the approaching F4 as hostile, it already dropped its payload and sunk my Kashin-class. This makes it substantially harder to repell the other waves. This could be bad RNG-luck, but you might add something to the RoE like "Approaching aircraft that refuse to identify themselves and change course are to be considered hostile within 10nm around the convoy".

I really liked the second mission. With the limited radar & missile capabilities, its not the usual E2+Tomcat 50nm sniper-game :) Unfortunately the airfield bugged out after 12 takeoffs, so I had to restart.

@Yumasai I played through all 4 missions.

Not sure if every mission has a completion message, but it could be because of the triggers bug that's preventing the trigger messages from showing up.

Mission 3:

P-3 should not use Harpoons because it was not in service in 1973. Change loadout to ASW.

Mission 4:

Replace 1980s Belknap with Belknap with RIM-2F.

If we get official earlier versions of the Adams without Harpoons and with Tartar missiles, I also suggest using those.
