Just defeat their faction leader in combat. It should pop up with a decision event that allows you to confederate them.

how do i actually confederate? do i have to wipe the faction out or just defeat the lord in combat?

Ok, got it updated. Updating description now but should be good to play. I haven't played the Slaanesh factions since the update, so please report any problems you have with it. I was able to launch their campaigns but haven't done a test playthrough for each.

Update is complete but having issues uploading it to steam. Will keep y'all posted. You should be good to upgrade the mod mid-campaign, so long as the factions you want to confederate still exist.

The Mod Configuration Tool will let you set a parameter with this mod for your faction lord like "Archaon can confederate everyone" which makes it relatively unrestricted. It depends on your faction lord, and it's just for Chaos factions. Not sure how unrestricted you're looking for - I don't know of anything that would let you confederate Kairos as Karl Franz.

But do you if there is a mod with unrestricted confederation?
I used to able to confederate N'Kary and the other Daemon Lords (or receive them with the 'Recruit Defeated Legendary Lord' mod) and cannot do it anymore.

Yes, as far as I know they work fine together fine. If you confederate someone you get them as normal with all their settlements and armies, if they are destroyed then you recruit them through the other mod. I've been meaning to add a note on that to the FAQ section, as I've gotten that question quite a few times. My understanding is that a significant number of subscribers to this mod use both together without issue.

Apologies if this has been asked before, but how does this mod interact with Recruit Defeated Legendary Lords?

Playing as Arbaal right now and I was at war with Skulltaker. During the end turn Skulltaker attacked me and I won, but at the start of the turn I didn't get opportunity to confederate and I couldn't save the game. I could take my turn properly, but the save button in the menu was greyed out. When I attacked Skulltaker on my turn and won a 2nd time, I did get the confederation event and afterwards I was able to save again.

Not sure what happened here, usually the event works fine if I get attacked during end turn. Maybe it has to do with Skulltaker technically being wounded during first combat, but being reforged? Just wanted to point this out, mod works perfectly otherwise :steamthumbsup:

@sajaxom yes i use the Mod Configuration Tool - v0.9 Beta, but i use other mod too so then i think it is some complication with another mod but it would be weird because only the mct option not showing and the rest is working fine

By the way, the update works in an existing save, so if you've got a game going you should be fine to update and go grab Taurox. I tested with both Arbaal and Skulltaker before and after the change on existing saves.

I take that back - I'm just dumb and terrible at keeping track of my old campaigns. I was running an experimental branch with Taurox, and the two lines needed to confederate him were not in the main branch. I'm sorry, everyone. Well, as of today's update he is confederable for Skarbrand, Arbaal, and Skulltaker. Thank you to all those that complained about it, and my apologies again.

@1sfef: I've confirmed with my testing that confederating Taurox as Arbaal and Skulltaker is not working. Something's obviously changed there recently in the core game files, as I've still got a save as Skulltaker with Taurox in tow. I'll keep poking around and see what I can find. I haven't made any published changes to the core mod since before Taurox stopped working, so it's likely something within the database.

@Fasc over Freedom and g.marzioni89: I just ran through a test run with Archaon and I'm not having any trouble confederating and then recruiting Tamurkhan. You do need to have "Archaon can confederate everyone" on in the MCT settings for the mod, though, as Tamurkhan is a monogod lord, and not part of the default set for Archaon to confederate. Arbaal is available as an exception to the rule since he's specifically chaos mortals focused.

@jimmymenNL: I'm not having any trouble viewing the mod settings in MCT, just verified during my test run. Are you using the Mod Configuration Tool - v0.9 Beta that's linked to the mod?

@g.marzioni89: I've got my test environment rebuilt and will run through some testing this weekend. I'm pretty sure I verified Tamurkhan with Archaon in a previous test on this build, but it's been awhile and I've got some new code to validate, so I'll run through it again.

Hi! Playing as Archaon, I'm having trouble confederating Tamurkhan. After defeating him, the selection panel to confederate him doesn't appear. I also have Recruit defeated legendary lord active. Kughat epidemius and Festus had already been confederated. Peace and love!

It would be nice to able to keep the WoC around as vassals when playing as Beastmen, to make a proper chaos horde like in the old WH2 invasion. Although yea there is unfortunately little unit overlap for actual confed.

@1sfef: I'll take a look. My last active Khorne campaign was Skulltaker, where I confederated Skarbrand, then Arbaal, then Taurox, then Valkia. Haven't personally tried as Arbaal, though.

What factions would you all want to see the other beastmen lords be confederated into? They have very little overlap with Chaos Warriors, and the lords other than Taurox are all undivided, so they don't seem to fit with the monogods. I added Taurox because he's marked by Khorne and there are multiple units that overlap, but the others I don't see an obvious place for.

Hello, Arbaal indeed can't confederate Taurox with this mod, I tested twice (Taurox has a herdstone so his faction isn't wiped out with his army). Skulltaker and Skarbrand confederation worked in this campaign, haven't fought Valkia so I don't know if Arbaal is able to confederate her.

This is awesome, but I have some lords that won't appear in my recruit options after a turn since I killed them to force a confed. Do only legendary lords appear as recruits if they're killed in the confederation?

hmm, i sacked his herdstone when i beat him down but i didn't raze it. idk.

it was a fun campaign regardless, getting valkia was a blast, used a cult summoning ritual from a challenge reward to get into naggarond and booked it north before malekith could ice her.

It should allow you to confederate Taurox with Arbaal. The only catch is that it can't be the last of the faction, so Taurox needs to either have a herdstone or another living army to be confederated.

probably should've submitted last week when it happened, but defeating Taurox with Arbaal did not trigger confederation. i don't think i read the flowchart wrong, but feel free to tell me off if I'm having a bimbo moment.

Hi, while playing a Tamurkhan campaign, was able to successfully kill, confederate and recruit Ku'gath. However when I killed and confederated Epidemius after he recovered from being wounded I could not recruit him. Not sure if its an isolated incident or others are experiencing something similar.

Don't worry, I've deleted Taurox's faction from the confederation list, so I'm fine until you update the mod with the fix :steamthumbsup:

@D. Badger: Nice catch, Azazel wasn't on the MCT list. I've updated the list to include him, and I also fixed the help text on those.

@Hemaka: Still working on that update for Taurox, my Lua is getting less rusty, but it will need a bunch of testing before it's ready. Will make adding new factions to the list much easier at least. Expecting to wrap up within the next 2-3 weeks.

Not going to lie, I have a love/hate relationship with requests like that. There is an obvious right way to do it, but now I have to spend a couple hours brushing up on Lua to code and test it. I'm not going to get any sleep until I rewrite the entire faction confederation list in a cleaner way. Thank you for making me be better, I just wish it wasn't on a Wednesday. :p

Not a fan of adding Taurox to Khorne confederation list as it breaks player's ability to confederate him with Dread when playing as Beastmen faction.
Basically if he's confederated by AI Valkia first (she's closest to him), Beastmen player can't confederate him any more. He just doesn't show up in the roster. Similar thing if using Recruit Defeated LLs mod - dillema doesn't show up. Broken. Especially that it can't be turned off in MCM.

Not aware of anything that needs to be fixed. Got any info on the crash? When was it crashing?

If it was crashing for you on 3/26 with the release of 6.1, then yes, it should be resolved. Any mod with capital letters in the table names was crashing, and I updated the mod later that day to resolve the issue.
