If only i could check if the mod is enabled, i dont have mods tab in game, and i subscribed only this mod and zoom out so i think its not a mod conflict problem but my game, anyway thank u i'll try reinstaling maybe

Just tested on latest Necesse build, latest mod version. I'm testing with no other mods enabled. Ambience loads and works as expected.

I suggest double-checking that you are playing with the mod enabled in:
Settings > Mods > "TBSJ Ambience" > click the checkbox.

If you are 200% sure the mod is ENABLED on your current save, please let me know what other mods you are using (sending a collection works) in case there is a conflict. Also, it would helpful to know if you're joining a server or playing alone. The more details I get, the more I can help.

Unless they put out a patch in the past few days that broke things (possible lol), you just have to enable it in your mod list in options, then restart your game

No problem! I am surprised too. They went through all the effort of creating/finding so many other sound effects... You'd think adding footstep sfx would at least be somewhere on their list.

CHANGELOG:
- Fixed for 1.0, supports the new world gen
- Reduced loudness and pitch range of snow footsteps
- Made default volume quieter
- Made it obvious volume sliders were from my mod and are not vanilla

Disclaimer: I haven't had much time to test yet, but the game doesn't crash, the biome-specific audio seems to transition fine between biomes/time-of-day, and switching to/from caves doesn't break anything. So it should be good.

I'll probably keep the modded ambience in as an option. I'll mute the slider by default for new users. I'll have to check out what 1.0 actually offers though to see if muting it is necessary.

To clarify, as of 1.0 this mod is also very much broken & crashes the game on launch.

Even though it is small and subtle it does add to the game I do like the footsteps so yes to keeping the footsteps if possible :steamthumbsup:

Do y'all think I should disable the ambient sounds, animal noises, and KEEP footsteps? I haven't actually played the update yet, but I think they at least added some basic ambience, right?

I think this mod will be obsolete after the 1.0 release of Necesse. They confirmed something like this to be present in the vanilla game.

Yes it is possible, but tbh I didn't really get that far content-wise when making this mod. It's been a bit since I worked on this meaningfully (excluding bugfixes and patches) so we'll see if that happens down the road

For example frogs and mosquitos in Swamp instead of birds.

I hate to say "works on my machine," but I just tested picking up/transferring items on the latest build, and everything seems to be fine. More details would be appreciated.

Well, what I noticed about my problem was that as soon as I found an item, my game crashed, it said that it was because of the mod that it crashed, uninstalled it 4 times, reinstalled it 4 times, it still caused the same problem.:steamsad:

Lol thanks. I was tired of taking ~20 minutes per update to manually add tiles to the sound lists, so I instead spent 60 minutes once to (mostly) solve the problem.

Released patch 1.15.0 for this mod, supporting latest game version. Adds new system to match tile classnames, making footstep sounds more consistent and able to support more mods w/ custom tiles. Should mostly fix underground sounds, too.

I would like to add more sounds, but other projects are consuming my time right now. If anyone want more sounds, feel free to ask (be a little specific pls).

It does work on v0.31.1; regardless, I just updated the mod info so it doesn't nag you about the game version.

If y'all are having a more specific issue (like if it crashes in a specific location) let me know.
