Thanks for clarifying — that makes sense if you’re anchoring things on Vampire Wars.

The changes I made to the Von Carstein are based off the Vampire Wars book series, which to me is the version that fits the most for the Total War setting.

In Warhammer lore the Empire and the Vampire Counts are of course bitter enemies — but there are a few notable exceptions where cooperation or manipulation occurred:

Von Carsteins: Vlad infiltrated Imperial politics and even secured the support of certain Elector Counts through guile.

Lahmians: Their entire bloodline is built on manipulating and aligning with human nobility from behind the scenes.

The End Times: Vlad von Carstein was formally recognised by Karl Franz and fought within the Imperial armies against Chaos (Mannfred too, briefly, before betraying them).

So while permanent hostility makes sense, a hard block removes those rare but very important moments of cooperation.

Just wanted to share that perspective — thanks for all the work you’ve put in!

Okay, boss, genocide it is :)

The only diplomacy that Chaos knows is submission or death, their purpose is to end the world. It makes sense to me that whoever they can't convert, they will destroy instead.

This mod brings them back to how they were in Warhammer 2.

Cheesing anything wasn't my intention, it's just that playing as chaos I think I should be able to have on and off wars with ogres or greenskins for example, for me it does makes sense lore-wise. But maybe it's subjective.

Yes, it's intended. It didn't make sense that you were able to sign peace treaties with Chaos as Dwarfs or Empire for example, so I removed it.

You are still able to sign peace treaties with factions that you are inclined to do diplomacy with.

Essentially Order factions can only do diplomacy with other Order factions, Chaos factions with other Chaos factions, ...etc.

If you want to cheese the AI, don't play with this mod. This is intended for more immersive campaigns.

Hey, I think this mod blocks peacing out of war with many factions. I think that should still be possible for all factions

Dark Elves have raided Wood Elves on multiple occasions, I don't think they are buddies.
Besides, being neutral doesn't mean being open to do diplomacy with other factions; which is pretty much the case for Wood Elves, they are isolationists.

@Antagonistes I feel like wood elves and dark elves should be able to engage in diplomacy with each other especially since wood elves are relatively neutral toward dark elves majority of the time

How different is this to Loreful Diplomacy - Warhammer III Edition?

As a Greenskin LL, can I just confederate with other greenskin faction instead of having it seemingly restricted?

I love the idea in this and wondered if it is compatible with All Diplomatic Options - Vassalize, Liberate, Confederate? If not, what would happen if I gave it priority?

No problem at all. I picked it up when looking into it and talking to other modders in the comment section. Glad I could help.
Antagonistes  [作者] 2024 年 12 月 18 日 上午 10:01
No, thank YOU. I wouldn't have noticed if you didn't tell me, I didn't know this issue existed.
AwDiddums 2024 年 12 月 18 日 上午 10:00
Hurrah, it works! I can see it in the modlist now. Thanks
