I worked with standard high-voltage swithches and priority swithces, and somewhat enlarged versions of them. It did work fine with them too.

The 19 MW limit isn't hardcoded. Check this mod.

I was hoping someone would have made real mod of it since I played a year ago, but it seems not. I failed to create a mod by then, even though I got it working when I edited the game files directly. I might give it a new try some day. But I haven't much time, and I find it hard to create mods in this game.

No you are absolutely true, this 19MW limit is applied from the game which is a bit surprising to me. Let's see if the game author can do something about this cause I see so many moders including you, building these visually appealing models without being able to add that extra MW we really need.

@Korovo I am planning an Early Start/Pioneer substation pack in the future too which will allow you to get started, especially in Realistic Mode.

@Korovo The motivation is for a more interactive substation pack as well as the resource cost being high as substations in real life require a lot of resources to construct. The 19MW is a coded limit for Switches & Substations which may be hardcoded or not, If I can find a way around it, this will give me more ability to make proper transmission assets for a 110kV national grid. The resource cost of vanilla substations are unrealistic as well as their design, The large footprint is also intentional as these are Air Insulated Switchgear Technology.

There are plans this year to add a Gas Insulated Switchgear Switchyards & Substations pack which are designed to be compact and be almost similar sizes to vanilla Switches & Transformers. The biggest trade-off with them will be their excessive Electric Components cost which will be 5x more demanding than their Air Insulated Switchgear counterparts.

This takes 10 times space and resources as the games original switch, has almost the same amount of outputs and is only 19MW. Whats the motivation to build this mod?

Thanks.

@potski If you click on any electrical building, it will show you what voltage the building is operating at. If there is no Power Input/Output, then it will be 230V. If it has a Medium Voltage Input/Output, then it will be 22kV. If it has a High Voltage Input/Output, then it will be 110kV. I hope this helps! :steamhappy:

Looks great! The game doesn't refer to 22kV and 110KV, but to Medium-voltage and High-voltage. It might be better to describe the connections that way for anyone who doesn't know what the numbers mean.

@Rob So switchyard stations are a hub where multiple High Voltage or Medium Voltage lines begin and end at, each one, small or large have variants that are for single and double circuit Overhead Lines, Medium Voltage shares circuit types in the same overhead buildings however and then there is a variant for Underground Cables. If you want all of your connecting lines overhead, then you choose an overhead one. The same rule applies to transformer stations however the medium voltage inputs/outputs will follow the same circuit rules as it's respective switchyard stations. Transformer stations are used to lower the voltage from 110kV to 22kV or increase the voltage from 22kV to 110kV. Cable Sealing End Compounds are tiny buildings designed to transition an Overhead Line to an Underground Cable, this pack contains only High Voltage ones currently and there is a plan to add more content in this mod at a later date. I hope this helps! :)

Any chance you can help me out by explaining how to properly construct a grid using these components and your other mods? It looks amazing and also much more realistic but I havent really got a clue on how to do it correctly. I, ironically, work at an electrical engineering firm but I do IT so I a layman when it comes to this stuff.

Nice work, these assets are exactly what I was looking for earlier this month to complete my power grid.

@Forze, You're a legend, thanks!

@CaseyJones Well Spotted! It's all fixed now ;)

Kudos! I really love these and all your electrical mods.

I did notice one small issue with the 110kV large double circuit switchyard. The outside two connections on the side opposite of the building have some swapped connection points.

Here's a screenshot for example: https://imgur.com/z9hx9pn
