The most challenging part of my run (on custom, between normal -- hard) is there's not a natural area to build a water reservoir for long droughts. As the droughts are getting longer, I've started a panic-built levee on top of the water source on the ridge to try to keep water for longer. It's been a fun challenge of the map and has kept it from feeling too easy
The 1 tile trees everywhere have been a bit of a drag; I'm playing with the ladder mod which makes things simpler, but clear trees off of a slope is a drag
Overall, fantastic work and I look forward to your next maps! Thank you!!!
@madaodoge: I did put fewer trees then i normally do. :D And yea some water sources are supposed to be extreme. Because of the contest with water physics i hyped it up for those maps. Gz for the Hard route! I did only normal :)
My only complain is there are too many trees on inaccessible cliffs (on 1x1 tile). You need to build scaffolding to reach it for removal if the space is needed, mostly for aqueduct support. Similar for ruins. I eventually gave up scavenging ruins and just use mine. The ruins makes good decoration anyway.
FYI some water sources in this map are absurdly strong. A single water source requires 4 unit wide waterfall for non-overflowing flow. Be careful!
