Sadly no. The small gravity generator must be located in that cell to cover the saucer section, and the only way to remove the radiation/cold is by moving it an additional block away from the player (which is impossible since there are no free blocks nearby to shove it into). The "Skiff Major" addresses this shortcoming by adding a larger generator, and hiding out of harms way.
The cross-sections are created 100% in-camera, in-game. I have a base with the grid pattern, each tile being 10 blocks (for scale reference). I then use the selection tool, and cut the top off the ship. To communicate the layout as clearly as possible, I repaint the containers by type, and use flat blocks to outline the borders in white (with black trim for contrast). I then set up LCD projectors to provide in-game labels of the various parts of the ship.
Yes, the Manta is a WIP, though one that was started during Reforged Eden 1. It's a carrier-type mobile base designed for landing on planets, with HV boarding ramps, and an SV internal hangar. Unfortunately, by the time I finished the design and ran the numbers through my spreadsheets, I realized it would never fly. Between the inefficiency of the engines, to the CPU limitations, it was an impractical design.
Now that RE2 has been released, I've updated the parts list and... it's finally viable . :D
Welcome back.
Will be trying it out next playthrough.
I haven't seen the Mobile Base (Manta) before.
Is that a WIP?
@Myrmidon: It’s great to hear from you! I remember your comments from before; glad you find it worthy to join the cast.
@Xarq: A “bigger brother” like the Orca (pictured in the lineup as “Multi-Role CV”)? Or a taller, bigger variant of the Skiff that looks more like a Nova, with raised nacelles?
