@escaped Psycho, No, i don't think so but it could be added or a secondary mod addon for t. Its been a long time since i made it and it wasn't something i planned. It was requested by another player.

Does this remove the requirement for Prototech Scrap to make the components? Or add a recipe to craft the Prototech Scrap in the assembler? Otherwise you'd still be stuck hunting for Prototech materials to acquire the scrap, which would reduce the usefulness of this mod.

This mods the prototech assembler not the standard assembler. The proto assembler can only make proto components by default. This makes it where the proto assembler can make regular components and proto components, plus prototech frames. If your playing in survival you would still need to find and acquire a proto assembler from the factorum faction. Once you have the proto assembler you should be able to built all the other proto blocks, So technically you would only need to find that one blocks to get them all. If your in creative then just place the proto assembler. Proto scrap is not relevant its just scrap from grinding certain components in the proto blocks. Like when you grind a battery you don't get power cells you get scrap back. This mod was a request and i tested it but have not played in game with it much or played that much with the proto blocks myself. I assume the proto scrap can be processed in the proto assembler either back into proto components or back into ingots.

Looks like you still have to find prototech scrap, is that correct? Also don't see the prototech components in a vanilla assembler, even though a vanilla assembler seems to be able to make the components if you click on the prototech block in the assembler. Is that how it's intended to work at the moment? Not being critical, just trying to understand the steps to make things. Not played with prototech much yet.

Mod updated to produce prototech frames. Tomorrow i will add the prototech blocks to the assembler build menu.

No, I don't mind the more the merrier. I plan on adding the ability to produce prototech frames to the mod soon. I am also working on other projects. I have a big ore mod for my server that will have a public version and nexus v3.

@G.Admiral_Telcar I have my own very similar mod that I threw together day of the prototech release. However something went wrong post patch fixes, and I have a number of other projects to work on. I was wondering if you would be cool with me redirecting all traffic from that mod to here till I take it down in a month.

So basically you want a small grid assembler that looks like the prototech one.
I cant make it smaller that would require making new models or reworking the models.
I can try and make it placeable on small grid but it would be the same size, and i can remove the prototech blocks from it.
If all you want is a small grid assembler there are plenty of small grid packs that have assembler, jump drives, refineries, and all kinds of other small grid blocks.

i was looking but did not fine this mod so i will request it here,
can you make the prototech assembler small grid, but have it only make the components of the large grid assembler no prototech blocks. i feel like this would be a good compromise and add to the theme of prototech making end game small ships more feasible

Anything is possible but its beyond my current ability to make a mod that allows player to configure there own blocks recipes. I do know those definitions are loaded on the game start. The mod would have to make the changes before you start the game or you would have to make the changes you want them restart the game and leave them. I don't use configurable parameters, as i think it gives everybody ingame the ability to change those settings. I just manually mod the changes i want. If there is a a few specific blocks you want the recopies changed, i can do that for you. Its extremely easy and wouldn't take to long. Now if you wanted every blocked changed i don't have the time for all that, but i could show you how its not hard. Make me up a list of the blocks you want changed and there recipes or i can make a youtube video or a screen share on discord, let me know.

Probably not the best place for this, but as more of a feasibility question, would it be possible to create a mod perhaps similar to Configurable Parameters that allows you alter the build recipe for each block?

O well I guess nobody could find that one. Somebody asked for it, so i made it. I didn't know it was there or i would have directed him to it. I took the time to make and post it, its here and in not taking it down.
