Many thanks. You didn't have to go through with it but very much appreciated. I just realized it was a good idea to split the vanilla and expansion hidden rulers.

No pressure if it's not necessary. Just wanted to sate my curiosity. I'll be testing to see if they appear when I disable perl's mod (I have it available in the mod directory and not in the workshop folder). The only other difference with regards to availability are the dragon rulers of the Dragon Dawn expansion (there are 6) so I'll look to see if they appear as well with just your mod enabled. There are also standalone single ruler mods that others did mainly to fix some ruler traits and visuals for thematic consistency so I can always look for those too.

@Ghoulvarine - Fair question! Back when I was first making this mod, I remember taking a look at the Inioch family and not really feeling compelled to add them to the mod. I think it was because they all seemed very (understandably) similar to one another right down to having the same faction banners leading to them seeming a little... bland?

I ended up not adding them figuring no one would want them, but I'm open to getting them put in the roster if you'd like.

Like Lithyl Nightweaver, did the update also make available the other characters of House Inioch? (i.e. Eleanor, Saridas, Thannis). Just wondering if there's overlap from perl's Age of Factions mod, which seems to be no longer available in workshop.

Mod has been updated for Griffon update!

Not a lot of things to note this time around. As I mentioned in my previous post, Lithyl is now officially unlockable by completing the story realm Grexolis and no longer needs to be supported via this mod. Congratulations, Lithyl!

Qualok's customization data is still scuffed. As a result, his sense of fashion remains highly questionable. He plays perfectly fine otherwise.

Hey folks! Yesterday, Triumph released on the open beta branch an early version of the Griffon update that'll be releasing next month. As a reminder, please disable this mod if your choose to opt into the open beta as it may result in some unexpected behavior! This mod will be updated as soon as the Griffon patch goes live in August.

As an added fun note, it looks like the upcoming Griffon patch will officially release Lithyl as an unlockable character provided you've completed Grexolis. Because of this, I'll be removing her from the next update of this mod.

@Kingmaker Sorry, I'm unsure what you mean. Apart from the previously mentioned bug regarding Qualok that the devs are aware of, there shouldn't be any graphical weirdness.

Using old, outdated mods can cause the symptoms you're describing, so that's my best guess. Otherwise, you may have mods that are incompatible with each other!

I've updated the mod for Orge Patch! A handful of changes to note this time around:

- I've removed the fix for Khir's incorrect weapon and Myrala's incorrect ruler type, as both have now been fixed by the devs themselves.

- Qualok Many-Marshes is currently bugged, but playable. The Ogre patch seems to have accidentally deleted all of Qualok's visual customization (armor, skin, tattoos, eyes, etc), and the game is using default options for him as a result. I've made a bug report, and may try to fix him to the best of my ability in a later update.

- Myrala is now able to be edited. I'd planned to make this change myself for this update, but the devs themselves beat me to it.

Hello folks! The upcoming Ogre patch entered open beta this morning, and that means it's time for the usual disclaimer:

The Ogre beta changes a handful of the rulers that this mod tweaks. As a result, using mod will cause conflicts with the rulers in question. If you choose to join the Ogre beta, I ask that you please disable my mod or expect to see some conflicts arise!

As usual, once the Orge patch goes live in April alongside the Giant Kings DLC I'll promptly update this mod to be compatible.

Well I am more than sure that it is possible to make a real costume like other lords who can be edited in the game, I unfortunately lack the knowledge to do this, so I chose the fastest and easiest method

By the way, all her traits and settings are saved in the game. I played a little bit and didn't notice any errors.

update managed to edit her equipment through deleting in the content editor model-meshes and textures of her costume in the end in the game was just her naked body.
Here's the first version of her new costume

I successfully made the mod according to your instructions again thank you very much, in the game editor I encountered an unpleasant surprise - you can normally change the parameters of the body arms and legs, head type, but her costume does not change, and the new costume is put on the old and gets a mishmash of costumes, I think it's because she doesn't have a base body model like other characters and her costume is written as a base body and can't be changed (same with the helmet, although her face can be changed there are 3 options. It's sad that the idea didn't work, but at least we tried.)

10) (Optional) As she is currently, Lithyl has two unspent trait points. I fixed this in my mod by giving her Arcane Focus. If you want to do the same, or give her something different, find the Form Traits entry under Gameplay Choices, click the yellow box, and select something in the trait list to give her.
11) Save your changes and exit ResourceEd. Once you're back in Package Manager, save your progress there too.
12) Your mod is now finished! Add it to your active mod playlist and dive in. IMPORTANT: If you use it alongside my mod, place yours BELOW mine in the load order so your version of Lithyl takes priority over mine.

6) Once Lords.rpk finishes loading, find the Category dropdown near the top, click it, and select Campaign Lords
7) Line 13 should say "Wizard King - #10 Lithyl Nightweaver - Lord Definition". Right click it and select Create Mod. This will enable all the properties in the next column over to editing.
8) Near the bottom of the properties column, under the Misc category, there's a few True/False entries. The second one is the one you're looking for, "Whether this lord can be Edited in faction creation". Replace the False in that line with True,
9) The next False line determines whether she appears in your roster of rulers. Change that to True too.

@RiscoUK I'd be willing to try enabling Myrala for editing and see how it goes, but in Lithyll's case I'm personally against releasing intentionally buggy mods to the public. I wouldn't want people to confuse quirks my mod creates as bugs needing to be reported to the devs.

The good news is, the mod you want is pretty easy to make for personal use, and I can even talk you through it:
1) Open the AOW4 launcher
2) Click "Game settings" in the sidebar, and launch the modding tools. Package Manager will launch.
3) In Package Editor, click File, New, and type in a name for your new mod package.
4) Click Tools and select Resource Editor. ResourceEd will open; it looks pretty intimidating, but don't panic!
5) In ResourceEd, click File, Open, and find the lords.rpk file to open. This will probably be in something like C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Age of Wonders 4\Content\Title\Packs\Species

In another mod i edited Myrala. character without any gameplay errors.

@RiscoUK I've left the "Can be edited" flag set as whatever the devs had as default. Usually, when a character can't be edited, it's because of some unique trait that will break the character if edited. This can be cosmetics such as the unique appearances of Yaka and Arachna, or they have pantheon unlocks that can mess up if they're edited by a player who doesn't have those unlocked yet (this is why most of the Ways of War factions have their editing locked).

The only characters my mod adds that have their editing locked are Lithyl and Myrala. For Lithyl, it's because her headpiece is unique. Myrala's a little more mysterious as there's nothing that immediately jumps out to me as being unique to her. I could try flagging her for editing in the future if there's popular demand for it, though I'm somewhat hesitant to without understanding why the devs flagged her specifically.

Pushed out an update today to fix an issue where the official 1.3 Tiger update accidentally changed Myrala the Grovetender to a Mortal Champion. After having the bug confirmed by devs (thank you MichelleK on Paradox forums!), I'll keep a fix maintained in this mod until the devs can push out a patch to address it. This also fixes Myrala wearing the wrong clothing,

@Mokai It's alright! Thank you for trying anyway... In the previous patch, I had some kind of madness going on and all the standard heroes without capes suddenly got them in a completely random order... For example Karissa got a necromancer cloak xD Since update, it's finally gone, but apparently Myrala took the hit x_x

@Fleshless One - I've been stumped. I spent some time going through Myrala's entry in Lords.rpk and it seems correct. She's configured to use the correct dress and crown, so there's gotta be something else somewhere causing her wardrobe change.

Nothing this mod does would have changed her clothing, but I went ahead and disabled it anyway just to verify the problem is with the base game. Indeed, I encountered her as a presence lord and she was still wearing the incorrect bits of armor.

This feels like something that only Triumph or someone else much more familiar with the rpk files than me can look into. Sorry!

@Fleshless One - Good catch! While checking things before pushing out the update I noticed she looked different somehow, but I dismissed it as my own imagination.

I'll poke around and see about fixing it temporarily. Might want to report her change of wardrobe on the bug report forums to get a perma fix!

Howdy all! I've gone and updated the mod to be compatible with the Tiger 1.3 patch that went live today. Everything should be working fine, but there's one oddity I should mention:

As of Tiger 1.3, Khir's starting weapon was changed from a Greathammer to a Lance. I have a strong suspicion this might have been a mistake, as I dove into resource editor and discovered that the line used for the previously-erroneous tooltip entry now doubles as what the game actually checks when deciding what to give to a ruler. Because the tooltip bug was never reported/fixed, it may have gone on to unintentionally become Khir's new loadout.

I've reported this to the Paradox forum as a possible bug to see what's up. For the time being, I've gone ahead and given him back his Greathammer until I hear differently.

With the Tiger 1.3 patch now in the open beta, it's time for the usual disclaimer: The 1.3 open beta patch makes significant changes to heroes, meaning the beta will almost certainly break this mod. I strongly recommend disabling this mod for the time being if you choose to play the beta.

Once the 1.3 patch releases proper, I'll get this mod updated ASAP. =)

@Marrow Fleshless One got it on the nose! Based on my journey through the mod tools it's absolutely possible to enable editing on characters with unique appearances (Yaka, Laryssa, Arachna, etc...) but from what I understand, it's really not recommended as I hear it gets really badly buggy.

Just a heads up: The upcoming Tiger Patch will be reducing the cost of Resilient from 3 trait points to 2. This MIGHT make this mod not reflect these changes right away, but I will be updating it within the first 24 hours of the patch to get everything sorted.
