That is, if you’re not using the mod on the newer versions which I haven’t updated the mod for yet

I really like the mod. I think it adds a lot to the game.
Only thing is that, I don't know if this is an issue for anyone else, but the interaction to "Search for a Mercenary Band" doesn't work. I'll click it, an event will pop up (but no one will appear in the event), I'll click to sign me up, but nothing happens.
The interaction to join the Varangian Guard works but the issue I have there is that I can't leave. When I sign up, the event says I can leave the Guard after 12 years. But after 15 years passed, I wasn't able to leave. Which was an issue because I wanted to become an Adventurer by founding an Adventurer Camp. I met the gold and prestige requirements to do so, but I couldn't do the interaction because I had "military obligations". So, I was just stuck in the Varangian Guard.
I had other mods on as well (these being VIET, Better Battles Updated, Battle Events, Dark Ages, Fate of Byzantium, and More Interactive Vassals) but I don't think they would interfere with this one.

Would it be possible to make the odds learning dependant and the date till next attempt visible for the "Learn to Read" interaction?

Also I have noticed it is possible to raised as a knight while also being in an Entourage with your liege

@XJ-9, with Battle Events, you take some gold from people you beat in a duel, so being a good fighter would become very lucrative indeed ;)

although being paid 0.6 a year even as a titleless character is totally useless. If I were to implement it, the player's salary as just a knight should be 1 gold a month minimum

@XJ-9, Maybe having it as an option or possibly its own mod. Possibly giving 0.05 gold per month for a knight would not be over kill. I got that based on the lowest payed court position. Even with 20 knights it would only equal 1 gold per month for the liege. Maybe even a sliding scale based on Prowess, better the knight, higher the pay. Just spit balling ideas.

@Barracuda Yes, it'd be possible. I'll probably only implement it for player characters though.

@DrakeSteele This mod is intended for playing as a completely titleless character, all of the content pertains to facilitate titleless play.

You can become titleless by using give all titles on your courtier as a landed ruler or an adventurer.

Does this mod only work if you start as a normal ruler and bust them down to nothing with the Give All Titles command? I have had this mod in my list for a couple weeks and can't say as though I recall seeing its content during gameplay as Adventurers from the start working their way up. I've never used to Give All Titles button.

I wonder if it would be possible to give small wages to Knights, Commanders and Councilors without breaking the AI

I quickly figured it out after I made the comment but thank you for your response. I hope you get around to adding some flavor to the Varangian Guard but regardless, I love what you've added to the game.

@Vlad the Dad Yes, you can interact with the byzantine emperor as a nordic culture or norse faith to join, although the varangian guard system has not received flavour and mechanics like the mercenary or holy order knights have yet.

Is there a way to become a Varangian Guard?

I tried to play with this mod in multiplayer with friends, but almost immediately after the time starts, desynchronization occurs. If someone knows how to fix it, please write

@Swiss_Spetsnaz I'm pretty sure patches after roads to power introduced very harsh marriage penalties based on distance for unlanded characters

Im not sure im the only one, but marrying seems to bit broken. Before it was easier to look for candidates for my children at same court, now the marrying-pool is very small and mostly restricted to the court you are. Sometimes i had the situation, that they married automatically (maybe by liege) without my action. Is this maybe a change that came after DLCs and Updates?

Is there a way to see how much time is left in mercenary contract or varangian gaurd? I seem to be able to just leave my mercenary captain's band without consequence

I don't understand what's the matter though - i have the "opressed culture" modifier and there's my culture provinces in the realm that have negative opinion.

Can't create populist or peasant factions. Button and interaction simply doesn't work.

@Barracuda I'll look into AGOT compatibility specifically after updating the mod to the latest patch

There seems to be a minor incompatibility with AGOT. You are unable to stay as a knight for a lord even when you switch to that lord and force your unlanded character in the knight manager.

@KylerKhan testing proved prolonged sessions with the actual lowborn ""dynasty"" causes many issues and errors, and it will often crash the game after a while

Oh thanks for the response lad! I wanted to ask cause I know the mod "Really Landless" (really similar mod, allows you to switch to courtiers to play as) actually allows you to switch to a landless character as well and it manages to keep the lowborn completely when you switch to one, but not create one, guess creating a low born character is too much for everyone and would take a lot of work to get around. @KylerKhan Being an actual lowborn crashes the game, so I made a “lowborn” dynasty with mechanics so it acts functionally the same as an actual lowborn

Hey love this mod! I just wanted to ask if you are able to work on it again could we actually be Lowborn and not just Dynasty with a Lowborn in the middle of it?

I'll be able to start working on updating the mod for the newest version soon, but I won't have time to work on new features for quite a while still.

As usual, you should avoid using a mod if it not up to date, because it is very likely that something in the new patch broke the mod's features

your mod runs into the same issue as mine, when you try to play as like a baron / mayor and turn the time back on then game crashes immediatly. I'm looking for what is causing it if i find out i let you know

That's my(and chatgpt's) best guess based on crash logs but sometimes I do end up getting the title becoming a count. When Petty King of Wessex (my master Alfred's liege / brother) gives out his titles to fit the demense limit, the game crashes.

@Coocoodas Does being granted a title crash your game?

'Escape from prison' interaction has no cooltime when you fail. You can just repeat it infinitely until you escape. I think there should be a year cool time?

Yeap, I can confirm that it is probably the known issue in the mod

Game can crash if titleless player inherits a vassals title - Not much I can do on this front, this is a paradox issue. Currently have a workaround that should prevent most cases of this (by switching the player character on inheritance), although there might still be some crash states left

Since there is no way of knowing when inheritance happens, I guess I can avoid it by waiting for half a year when you begin the game so that the AI finishes giving out titles before you become a slave.
