How do i disable maps without a prefix? the mapvote_allowcurrentmap command does nothing.

The mod uses the built-in system from TTT2. You can set the TTT2 map pool as follows:
Open the TTT2 Menu (default keybind is F1), click on "Admin Commands", then select "Maps" and disable every category except ttt. (You need to be a server admin to do this.)

Don't change the LUA file, just set the cvar "mapvote_maplimit" to 48. (You also need at least 48 maps on your server.)
You can set the cvar by typing "mapvote_maplimit 48" in your server console (without the quotes).

I downloaded the mod and added it to my server add-ons folder, and tried to change the maximum maps from 24 to 48 via mapvote.lua but nothing happens
