I figured out what my issue is! I for some reason assumed you could apply statuses based on species in vanilla, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I am going to refactor what I was working with to work using Race Traits universal status applier once I figure out how that works. But for now, I'm going to take a break from this "issue".

Okay, after deciding I'd fix the problem myself with absolutely no experience in SB modding, I've come back to report: Absolute failure.

So I see you implemented the flight via the innate species multi-jump peram, which makes sense and is very easy to implement. Sadly this left me to try and write a bad species patch file with a lua script to apply an effect that drains your energy after a certain amount of jumps without touching the ground. (Rather than being able to just slip an energy drain into the multi-jump if you'd used a tech or something.)

I feel like I got the patch structure/mod structure correct, and my lua is actually decent. Reading the docs it feels like it should work, but it isn't and I'm getting no errors, and logging didn't really help. Not sure quite what I'm doing wrong, but I've developed a headache here so I'm going to stop trying and leave it to someone who understands SB a little better and probably knows a better way to implement this than me.

Infinite flight out of the gate is a little too strong for my multiplayer mod setup, but with a small tweak (like making each subsequent jump after the first two or so cost energy) this would be perfect. Unfortunately, I don't know how to do that myself. So if anyone reads this or has the same feeling, I would love to see a patch/companion mod to address that issue.

Also hoping for a frackin universe/races patch to give them stats.
Racial traits is great, but it doesn't give them specifics on preferred weapon.

I can eventually get to it myself when I'm done working on my mods if necessary...

I have to say, while the flapping flight ability is pretty interesting, it might mess with a few techs.

Can it be, idk, toggled off if a tech is equipped in say... the legs or the torso? (I don't remember which one is more related to movement)
As it is, with added movement tech they are *very* op since it won't prevent them from using their innate hability. There's also quite a few flight techs that could just enhance them anyway, considering the wings are so well animated.

I'm currently experiencing a bug where their big ears are ridiculously big - about the size of their entire body. Would that be caused by the incompatibility with FU?

Seems they arent compatible with xbawks character extender? they dont show up when that one is installed! Also one teeny thing would be maybe to not let them infinitely fly without maybe stamina usage? since theyre a bit OP, other than that i absolutely adore them and the animations/wing changes for falling/flying are SO GODDDDDDLY
