Answer:

Yes, the both variants have differences both engine and tender, the Virginian variant of the engine has bold white railings on the top front of the engine (to access the smoke box), whilst the C&O variant just has black railings.

The tenders are way more obvious, the C&O lettered "Chesapeake and Ohio" and the Virginian railroad lettered Virginian respectively.

i have a HO scale model train from riverossie that dates 80s or 90s. i got it at a train show damaged but its a unique and the custom decal of the Virginia and Tennessee number 854.
but i might repaint it for the C&O in this livery or one from a different railroad.

This is incredible and very nicely detailed with this pack i was expecting a lot more engine to be in it but still it is pretty nice to finally have the Allegheny with the correct size and intense amount of detail well done i whould give it a 9/10 i took one point for the reuse of whistle but its okay its still perfect none to less:steamthumbsup::RLSantaFe:

On the virginian AG, the grab irons in between the cab and the tender, are white.
