Yes the autopilot will take you to the moon, and account for orbit.

it flies to space just fine lol, started blasting rockets once i passed clouds, straight up
5 minutes later im in high orbit. then onward to moon.

This thing seems to be not able to fly to space without any non-documenetd tricks/magic
-started reactor and waiting to run-up
-used VTOL and 0.3 throttle to move out of the hangar
-de-activited VTOl WHILE accel to 1.0
-pointed upwards...ultra-slow ascend, so started the rockets, too(fiull power, 1.0.....still slow)
-as soon as the pink light wents on (still in atmosphere...blue sky, wind noise)
-activated AP to moon
= nose wents down, until pink light out
-tried again without the AP =
-used/tried manual pitch-up...still full rockets, but after 10 miniutes, still in atmosphere
-gave up

I might have a idea for what’s going on. Try keeping the throttle at 0 then set the altitude. Located in the center counsel. The throttle will take the ship out of vtol mode. Let me know if that helps? Thanks for letting me know.

idk if you'll see this but it doesn't work for me. I follow all the instructions and set the vtol but when I hit the engines it just goes straight forwards and crashes. doesnt matter how long I wait for it to go up or how high I set the altitude

It should work it atmosphere without the DLC. In atmosphere is uses a reactor and turbine fans.

escape pods dont work in space they float very long and clip into the moon serfice 1/3 Times

Sure thing. AP to Moon will activate once the ship is in space. Normal earth AP operation will continue until the pink space indicator lights up. After AP to the moon is active. The ship will point towards the moon. The moon will look a little high thru the window. This is fine. Once the moon starts to move away from center. Set the slider on the orbit adjuster to 1.6 . This will put you on a intercept orbit towards the moon. The Moon should eventually recenter.

Once that happens, simply use the slider to keep the ship centered towards the moon. You will see the crater you land in start come came around. Once it does. Aim for the center of the crater. You can also use the space trim to help with this part, but once you enter the crater. Its best to reset the space pitch with the 5 key, and also turn off AP to moon. That way you can rotate the ships towards earth and get into your slowdown burn in advance. Also, at that point. You can use your WASD keys to orient the ship for the slowdown burn. I hope this helps I am working on a tutorial, but there is a lot of steps, so its taking a little bit.

Thanks a bunch ^^, and I am currently working on a tutorial. Also, this variant does not have guns. The turrets would cause the ship to explode upon reaching the moon lol.

took me 1.2 hours to get to the moon. loved the to the moon autopilot it worked great!

Also, if it feels slow it atmosphere. Its still going 108 meters per second from electric engines. Which I think is pretty good for something its size ^^

and the same VTOL system on earth is hooked up to moon operations as well. That said were ever you left your VTOL altitude lever is the altitude via laser distance from the moons surface, so you can use your arrow keys, or the alt lever to lower your altitude. I recommend tapping your arrow keys and watching it come down. The vertical thrusts are not very powerful, and can be over done when descending. I might also make a tutorial, because I figured it could be a bit much XD
