I was looking for a mod like this because I don't know what the combine are saying cause of the vocoder but I wonder what it actually meant.

I'm trying to convert this on my language. but when I test captions, my lans turning to broken letters. only english is fine. Is your .lua scripts are ANSI or UTF-8? used Notepad++

That's weird, it should work.
Which NPCs are you checking subtitles on?
Because it should work on npc_combine_s and npc_metropolice.

You need MrSlonik's Simplest Subtitles Framework for this addon to work, I would add it to the required items but steam won't let me do that.

Does this only work on the Half-Life 2 campaign? Asking cause the subtitles don't show up in sandbox
