@superosh ya, it's a really weird mechanic that doesn't make sense haha. So I ended up taking off all shape blocks (including the lead blocks ironically), and this thing is a beast. I put a crusher and another 4 RTGs and it's really cool. It's definitely not as pretty as you designed it unfortunately but it's capable for sure. Thinking of trying to put a big prop on top and see if maybe I can get sort of a hybrid vehicle.Thank you for sharing this with us, it's a really cool vehicle.

This is more or less what I have seen while builing this thing.
At the very beginning, even 2 props were fine to have a comfortable sink/ascend-rate.
Then I started to-do some shaping, and at the end, I have had an unsinkable boat.
So, I replaced many blocks and used steel instead,...still not enough "power" to sink.

So basicly, you have removed steel-weight from this sub, and now....it sinks better.
That's what I ment with "My try to fight the strange buoyancy in this game..." :-)

I decided to try taking off about half of the shape blocks, and was able to 4x the decent speed and it can still ascend quite easily.

The number represents just the ore-contents in the container. Just a small "gimmick" I found out by accident.
I am also not happy about the battery-drain vs the time and energy it takes to go down.
The problem is, that all working components (i.e batteries.,pumps etc) are causing positive boyancy.
I.e. was sitting at -1200m and slapped two more batteries onto this thing....just to see it started to climb. Everything seems to be fiiled-up with helium or whatever gas.
For that reason ...and as a workaround I implemented the energy-eco-mode (1-key). So when going-up again, it's ok just to use 2 instead of 4 props.

Not ideal...I know. However, many thanks for your comments.

I love this little sub but it takes ages to get to depth. I tried to mine some uranium and it took me a long time to get down to 1500-1600m. The batteries drain pretty fast too so I had to stop thrusting to dive a few times and re-charge the batteries. Still love it though as all my attempts to make a sub have not worked out. The number that shows under the drill switch, what does it represent? Is it weight of cargo?

Many thanks for your feedback. And I agree with your request.
I have (dirty...simple) implemented a differential-thrust, so you can use YAW,LEFT/RIGHT or Joystick-yaw to change the heading without moving forward/backward now.
This makes parking-ops when back at home much more easier.

All in all, it's more a proof-of-concept "sub...-thing" to have a better understanding about the game's buoyancy.

I would love to see Yaw working at a standstill? As in only Yaw input instead of having to go forward? Otherwise this thing is awesome. All the noises makes it feel legit with pumps working. Nice work.

Just switch on the main-switch behind the seat.
If it the still off after main-power switching, just tap the screen so you can cycle between the modes.

You can set a reciever-frequency if you have a home-beacon.
So you could use the nav-display to find back home.
...I just forgot to label it....

What is the keypad on the tail used for?
