@seasonpasstm love this add on bro!! Makes it feel so much more "bungie!" Haha kudos man I absolutely love the base map and architecture!! The underground areas feel very flood haunting!! Man Bungie unfortunately had to leave behind so many great maps well under development! The inside of the temple on m1_defense is soooo ominous!!! Everything just felt alien. All of the structure was a flat, emotionless kind of puter grey color. Really wish they would of explored that concept more!! Even the light fixtures bring triangular was so beyond covenant imo lol. Hey man, I'd love to explore this whole mod add on for moonbase on sapien! Do you mind if I get the raw files (scenario, tags, data, etc) so that I can boot it up?? Thank you man!!:steamhappy:

@200 Angry Locusts Yes, the level is meant to end abruptly, its scripted to do so, not exactly a bug. Original bungie design documents had the player explore deeper underground in the moons caverns itself, with sentinels and covenant 3 way encounters (some scripting would have you activate and spawn them in to distract covenant).

I cant add that as I do not have the level geometry nor the experience needed to add that.

For anyone wondering what I was doing, I was thinking about improving Arcology, and m1_assault along with h2defense but Those levels have wildly varying levels of completeness.

I do not have expertise in halo 2 editing past simple level scripting and designing ai encounters as well ai migration. That is to say, any modelling or Animation work for elevators, doors etc. I just dont have the skill set for, which is what m1_assault is sorely missing.

Instead I am working on putting Halo 2 marine combat dialogue in halo 3, as I do like some of the voices and personality in that game, once I am done that, I could release it but I am pretty unsure if audio mods are supported in the work shop (as you have to replace the fmod english files in the halo 3 mcc directory itself).

@joshg4491 I believe the digsite files are posted on a repository, iirc. In their post about it, I think at the bottom there was a link to it, or a online drive that had all the files available. Download it, and post it in the appropriate areas in your Halo editing kit folders, and you should be good to go opening it in sapien.

I plan to eventually make the defensive level more stream lined, there is a lot of waiting and the ai spawn way too far away so it feels like you are sitting around waiting for things to happen.

I actually instead spent time making m1_assault actually have enemy encounters. It is basic, no mission dialogue currently implemented, the level just has to go up to the forerunner structure, and clear it. Then the level ends.

I dont have the scripting experience to make the original level vision happen though. If theres one thing, the map is barren as its 1 giant green hill-y area lmao

This was a very enjoyable and fun level to play through. Great job bringing it to 'completion'. (And kudos for the ODSTs being optionally savable instead of 100% doomed to die. Well, at least the original group you deployed with. Wish the others could be optionally savable too, and not spawn in as corpses and/or instant-killed, but that's just my OCD talking.)

The only thing I'd suggest to add would be Drones in the power room, both due to the vertical environment - and, referencing lore, Yan'me being used by the Covenant as engineers when Huragok (the actual Engineers) are either not available or not necessary.

Will you be doing any work with the Defensive level? Cause that one sounds very interesting to experience.

I will work right on that, I currently plan to add a checkpoint after the first gate fight, dying to the 2 elites and 1 grunt right after a massive fight, and being forced all the way back is unfun, especially on legendary.

Also plan on making the return trip a little more polished, the ai sort of stick to one or two spots in the hallways, instead of being more spread out as you run and gun.

I will look for some dialogue to put at the missions start.

Dialogue was exactly what was needed! I enjoyed the extra encounters as well and the pelican introduction of the ODST's. Moreso thank you for adding some guys I can fight against at the end. It was cool shooting through the windows to kill the spec ops elites and the hunters while my ODST buddies shot 'em up. Managed to keep all alive, except for the dead and cold ones. My last suggestion for a cherry on top would be for dialogue at the very beginning. I was confused when I didn't see my allies at the start and walked away and missed that first pelican. Everything else is as good as it can get, I think, with what the map itself has to offer. Still would like to see it go even longer, it was so much fun. Also, the mission itself feels a lot like skorly's tower of treachery custom H3 mission

Okay, I added a bit more encounters, there's some polish left to do on them. Added more mission dialogue, possibly going to add some more. If there's any problematic sections, do leave a comment. I will see if I can get around to improving it.

Changed the title to better fit with what separates this version of moonbase from the digsite release.

Just letting people know that I am currently going back and trying to improve certain sections.

As for the odsts at the end of the level, they are the same ones that follow you from the beginning of the mission, and stay in that dark room trying to fight the covenant. On legendary, its is very unlikely they will survive, because its halo 2 lmao

You can shoot through those little windows next to that elevator in the shaded area next to the gate, right before the zealot elite encounter to take out the spec ops elites. I will work to add 2 or so ODSTs at the top of the last return elevator as per @Mr. Mud's suggestion. If its not difficult, I will try and make them accompany you to the bottom of the structure.

Similar to the other comments, the changes made in this mod really enhance the mod! The friendly AI and music are well done. The scorpion tank section was an awesome addition. I agree that including allies who can fight until the end would give the player an extra sub-objective to achieve and would also add a bit of repeatability to the mod. Great work!

This feels even better then the digsite release. The added ally's, and tank section (scorp on wraith action) at the beginning is really fun. I only have one comment in that at the end (I played through on legendary) I can hear ODSTs fighting and dying to the covenant while I'm at the other end of the section. I tried rushing as fast as I could and not one survived. I think that scattered dead ODSTs or some fighting is fantastic but I wish I could have a few to push the ending section with and keep alive. I saved all 8 at the beginning (got a rocket one to spawn after failing once or twice) and wish I could save more :) hunters at the end were really cool paired with the spec ops too

Really reminds me of like, one of those Mass effect 1 planet exploration missions, when you pull up to a random building occupied by pirates or something

i love coming over the hill and just seeing the structure there with the phantom air traffic
