I also made a gif specifically to show how changing the nav constant changes missile flight path. I'll post it to the stomworks official discord now if you want to see it https://discord.com/channels/357480372084408322/525362818455699457/1287371533278380105 .
In the mean time, it looks like there's a bunch of other people working on their own TWS implementations (like the falkner-muir people). So hopefully some of them are able to publish a TWS that solves some of the issues I faced.
The need to adjust the search angle should be the only drawback of the system ....
With the addition of the AWACS radar, I even hit a target 25km away with it. Very powerful.
Now all that's missing is a little improvement in the radar system to let me know what I hit without me having to manually rotate the radar all the time. That would be the perfect missile system.
It does get jammed sometimes i will admit, But the speed on the missile and the fact it can intercept both aircraft and surface targets makes up for it.
Nope, against neither. I did one test on each.
Against aircrafts: The first one went slightly under the target, the rest shot either straight ahead or almost exactly 90° to the right.
Against car (Truck): They didn't even have the decency to do the cool VLS thingy, they just went straight up.
Test one: Missile Nr.1 goes towards the target (ship, 1km, roughly infront of the VLS (+-10°)), but passes a good 5m below it. Nr.2 goes off almost exactly 90° to the right, Nr.3-6 hit the target but don't explode.
Test two: Nr.1 goes hits the target without exploding. Nr.2 goes almost exactly 90° to the right. Nr.3 same as Nr.1, Nr.4 goes again almost exactly 90° to the right of where Nr.2 went. Same thing for Nr.5 and 6.
It just shoots in random directions. It does it in all available modes. The first one usually shoots towards the front, the following each shoot roughly 60° to the right of the previous fired missile. I've checked all systems and even reinstalled the cells, but didn't help. Got clue on what's going on or how I can fix it?
There's two lines of code you might need to change, line 116 "if tsl<12 then" and line 118 "elseif tsl<69 then". tsl is the time since launch (in ticks), so the first line pretty much just tells the missile to fly straight for 12 ticks. I'd just change 12 to 60 or whatever , and 69 to 117. This'll just make sure the missile is out of the water before it starts turning.
