@JBDigriz I see your point, but i kind of like the idea of being able to enslave dwarves and forcing them to mine for you. Also commanders are meant to lead armies not necessarily oversee mining operations. Though i suppose maybe adding a mining overseer option that has access to digging instead would help alleviate the problem. If there ends up being much demand for it maybe ill add in an alternate mod that does that

An awesome idea overall. Although it seems much better to give tunneling to dwarven commanders instead of workers.
Workers spawn as neutrals, thus can be captured by multiple means by other players pretty much nullifying the tunneling advantage this mod gives to the dwarves.
