I just tested both version and it looks like Trade Rework reduces employment by 90%, while overhaul is 97.5%.

Any thoughts on making Rework slightly smaller like 50%? 90% is a pretty massive buff.

Not sure If I'm missing something in the description, but I thought it was trade Overhaul that reduces employment by 90%. I'm only using this version (Trade Rework) and employment for a level 1 trade center also seems reduced by 90% to 100 pops.

this mode is just supposed to be a slight increase in trade. if you want max trade go use trade overhaul

although it doesnt touch small scale trading either, it just increases bulk and mass scale trading by 2x. the main thing overhaul does is slash employment even more and boost trade capacity and weekly trades

you forgot to adjust the trade quantity of small-scale trading, which is still 3. imo you could probably set it to cost 0 MM and it'd still be balanced because of the pop cost, plus it would enable landlocked countries to kickstart trade

updating mod in a min. got more trade value by switching out regular workers for capitalists. much better since now profitable trade goes straight to the reinvestment pool, and the trade centers dont have to pay wages so double win.

@KeinNiemand base trade volume will be staying at 1 i tried to make it lower before but either some goods overwritten it ruining balance or it shit out errors, cant remember.

@Hazelnuts :) trade should never cost bureaucracy, especially for a "economic" game. its a shame the devs are commies but they seem to be fixing in the next update in vanilla anyway

i was using this mod with better politics but it feels too easy now tbh. i can upgrade all my institutions, have unlimited trade routes, and still have a massive bureaucracy surplus. i like the volume but it needs balance.

Does this also decrease the base trade volume at level 1? level 1 folume is sometimes a bit too high for very small countrys.

fuck trade routes taking bureaucracy. the government shouldnt make trade routes in the first place. and it def shouldnt cost fucking bureaucracy. most braindead move by the devs, and they only did it because of performance

Volume is nice but the reduced bureaucracy costs might be too generous imo.

that would be changing it too much from vanilla. also im 90% the game is hard coded to need a trade center, but ill try some things out and upload a seperate mod if i can get the results of remove trade centers

can you delete the trade center? because it use labors to maintain the trade routes, which make trade less worthwhile. could you make them use less labor or just delete it

ive tried to fix the issue a few times now but i just cant. routes will not downgrade when they should meaning lower productivity meaning no money for dividends

and there is something weird going on with the calcs which im assuming is mapi

i have no idea if its always been broken but. some trade routes just wont decrease. i think its looking at prices then profit to decide wether or not to close it maybe?

ive set it to auto decrease at any productivity lower then 3, yet a couple -45 productivity routes are not decreasing

looks like a issue from the update. anything under 0.10-3.0 productivity (i forgot what i have it at) should go down. ill fix it at some point today

I'm not quite sure if this is a recent change because of the new updates, or another mod (which worked previously, I'll try to do some more testing) but it seems like the mod isn't working like it should. Trade routes will frequently refuse to lower the amount of goods traded even if it's in a deficit. https://imgur.com/a/ngwb7RI
