Thanks for this - its brilliant, had the same thing happen to me in terms of options. Knew what I wanted, which was basically what this mod did, and didn't want to go through 5 different programs. The only thing render it does, perhaps it might still be enabled, is you can add TAA etc (though can probably do that via nvidia or AMD settings maybe). This is one of those 10/10 mods!

Update - while it might be possible to use with 'render it' for the TAA, it could be best to not use it at all, and just find TAA somehow else. May be via nvidia control panel or AMD

Thanks for the heads up! It definitely isn‘t deprecated.
@Bomret Fyi, it is marked as deprecated in Skyve. Still perfectly works!
@Loffas
I think you need to look at a mod like Render It for that feature.
Loffas 8
Would like to have the option to trun off shadows on buildings all together.
Softer lightning is better then nothing of course, but turning them off completly would be a god send to this game
Sorry for not being more specific. Yes I use ACME and Sun Shafts are Visible during the day. What I meant was that I didn't play with time running because I just started a new City. Also I am still working on the perfect re-shade settings. :steamhappy:
Bomret  [
@MrPapaBear I'm using the ACME camera mod. It allows the camera to be moved around much more freely. I specifically implemented the feature to only be active, when the sun is visible and am using a highly optimized shader.
Sun Shafts so far didn't have a real way of testing/ seeing it, but at least FPS don't change with it enabled. The og Mod would tank FPS. The other new effect chromatic aberration is nice for Pictures. So the light drop in FPS is not Important.
💪 looking forward to trying it.
Bomret  [
Sun shafts and a subtle chromatic aberration effect have been implemented. The chromatic aberration effect is disabled by default. Go to the mod settings in the game's options menu. There you can enable/disable everything.
Bomret  [
@CreatorOfWorlds I’m currently testing an options sun shafts implementation. Stay tuned.

@Baldovino I’d need more information about the error you get. What’s the error message? Which other mods do you have active?
Would it be possible to add sun shafts as a feature but with an optional toggle?
Baldovino Trevisano 6
Hello; the mod is giving me an error when i start the game but it does not say [or at least i did not understand] if it is incopatible with the mods i'm using. Can somebody help me?
Lol it looks like someone remove the mexico filter
Bomret  [
@darcula2000 Natural Lighting basically does the same thing as Softer Shadows. What do you miss?
Nice work, It is good to know that it is dependence-free. I'll check it later.
Daylight Classic + Softer Shadows + Dynamic Resolution + Real Neutral LUT,Thank you, these four mods are still valid until December 2024.

I respect and thank every mod creator, but I have to admit that after 9 years, the simplest and most effective mods in terms of light and shadow effects are still those from 8 years ago.

this 4 mods combination still cannot be replaced, such as' Render It! ',' Lumina ', and' Relight '. Although these complex mods are more flexible and free, they require patience to adjust the values. Most players just want to achieve a simple and beautiful light and shadow effect.

What I most want to adjust is the part of the building that faces away from the light. The latest Mod [Natural Lighting] can replace [Daylight Classic], but still cannot fully replace [Softer Shadows]
@Cloud Breaker that is strange. The mod only changes some internal values for calculating the in-game lighting. And it only changes them once when you 1. enable/disable the mod and 2. change the settings. According to tests and user feedback there is has been no noticeable change to FPS.
Frost King 2024
When I enable your mod it seems my fps degrades by about 20%.
BEAUTIFUL. Thanks a million for this mod. Looks great!
Royal Raven 2024
Thanks for this! Replaces my dated Daylight Classic and Softer Shadows.
Yes, keep working on it, but I hope the creators can work on a new cubemap replace.
Top!
Tranks a lot, MrPapaBear! Glad you like it.
Well reading your description I was thinking big talk properly gonna be disappointed. :steamfacepalm: :steamhappy: You so proved me wrong, this mod is genies, the Game looks better then ever without playing around with a million settings and old mods. Thank you, take my Points.
Thanks, for your answer :)
@PhazezGova Natural Lighting does not touch anything that is related to Dynamic Resolution. You should be good to go!
What about the dynamic resolution, do you know if it is compatible? It's similar to render it.
@Zattom Thanks so much 😊
Zattom 2024
It looks so nice, the best visual ever.

Version 1.2.1 removes the incompatibility warning with Theme Mixer 2 and 2.5.
@TheCehapeliCay thanks! I’m a bit hesitant about the no fog option at the moment as there already are a number of other mods that do this but I’ll think about it.
Just released version 1.2.0 including the "Enable anyway" mode. In that mode Natural Lighting will apply its settings and possibly override the settings from the incompatible mods. This will not result in crashes but may result in the game's lighting becoming a mix between Natural Lighting and the other mod(s). However this might give you an interesting starting point: You can for example activate Natural Lighting in conjunction with Render It! or Lumina and use these mods to then fine tune the game's visuals to your liking. Recommended only for players who have more experience with the aforementioned mods.
I just released version 1.1.0 of Natural Lighting which adds the option to use the dedicated and now built-in Natural Lighting LUT. It's on by default, but you can switch this option off at any time and use a LUT of your choice.
@gpa1090

Yes, Theme Mixer also changes the lighting configuration so it is marked incompatible as well. I'm currently thinking about an "I know what this means, enable anyway" mode for Natural Lighting which would apply its settings regardless of incompatible mods as "Compatibility" here only means that all the mentioned mods can change the lighting and not crash or anything.

But thanks, I updated the docs here to reflect the situation with Theme Mixer 2 and 2.5.
Hi, I use Skyve and deactivated Daylight Classic plus Lumina. Skyve show no other incompatible mods. However, Natural Lighting still deactivate itself in game due to conflic with Theme Mixer, which is not mentioned as incompatible in this mod page.

In the log file, this line is found: [NaturalLighting] Detected incompatible mods Theme Mixer 2.5.

Grateful if you can clarify the compatibility situation of this mod.
@Shomudi thanks a ton! That was the intention of this mod 😊
@Bomret Its certainly much better than the vanilla looks. Recommended to anyone that does not want to mess for a few hours with the graphic settings in Render It or Lumina.

Can you please take a look at your debug log file? See this guide on how to find it: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=463645931 (scroll down to "Finding the log file"). Inside that file look for a line that starts with "[NaturalLighting] Detected incompatible mods [...]". Paste that entire line here, please. It will contain the names or steam id's of the incompatible mods.
I don't subscribe to Daylight Classic,
Soft shade
Make it!
lumen
How can still detect incompatibilities
Cool! Please tell me what you think afterwards 🙂
I'm using Render It! but I'll give this a try (will deactivate Render It!) first.
