Requested Whiplash's Camera mod on a server and the admins claimed that is was only for 16:9 displays, and they claim clean camera mods like this one break their server. Really need instructions on how to do this client-side.

For those of you, who still want to use a clear overlay for cameras: I added this option to Configurable Parameters . This uses a code based method and should therefor be (more) future-proof (no hardcoded changes in .sbc files). In addition it should also affect custom cameras.

@[Andon] I hope you do not mind, if I point people towards my mod here, since you marked this mod as outdated. Feel free to suggest it as an alternative way to get an absolute clear camera view once again.

Hey yeah, I just recently returned to SE and had this on on my favourites. I'm using Whip's atm since it was recommended in the description. Didn't see that until I'd commented though.

This mod is, at this time, uh. 6.5 years old. I'm surprised it doesn't immediately crash the game.

I might poke at seeing what's needed to update it, but don't hold your breath. Whip's mod is pretty good, so you can use that.

Folks, while this mod appears to work at first glance - it has a few problems. It replaces the definitions with a modified 2014 version. Things that have been added since 2014 are are missing - eg: raycast etc.

There are many others that do the same flawed thing but with a different overlay.

May I suggest looking at Whip's version instead? Instead of replacing the camera sbc definitions, it uses a simple one-time script to patch the current camera definition. Whenever Keen change things, Whip's mod just works. If you need to make your own, take a look at the script from Whip/Digi.

I downloaded this mod but won't load in any game, it unloads the map. Can't find its folder either in my workshops' folders

It's working perfectly for me, thank you for making this. The vanilla camera was unusable for me since it gave me a headache when trying to see through the grainy effect.

Something is killing my sim speed when using cameras on ships now. Can't tell what it is and I hope it isn't something they did last update that's messing with this mod =/

Hrm. Can't manage to get this thing to export properly. Not that it looked pretty in the first place. Keep getting a clean screen with nothing on it. Tried a bunch of things, can't figure it out...

Lochlain000 - Yep. Seems fairly simple to do, I just have no graphic skills. This was simply making a blank file and changing a few lines in CubeBlock.sbc

Is it possible to add a different overlay to the camera? One with a viewfinder? One of those with a circlular bit in middle and the corners of the square around that and similar brackets in the corners?
