its awesome being able to make these again, i always liked the mock legion idea in rome 1. Out of curiosity, are you intrested in making the armenian and numidian mock legionary as well?

Just stumbled across this and am bewildered by people who think that they know everything about modding and decided to insult some guy they don't know who made a mod which by this point is about 8 years old

It probably doesn't... I tried to fix my unit mods a while ago, but even though I set them up in a way they should work, they did not. CA just went and broke all mods one day and there's not a big enough community anymore for me to ask around how to fix them.

Make it yourself then and don’t complain about a mod no one has given a damn about for 5 YEARS. You don’t understand that most unit mods in this game just re use the games own assets? There are custom units out but they came long after support for this game ended and required so much more effort than what I was willing to make because I didn’t expect ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to bother me over something so insignificant five years in the future.

So you just edit the model settings, give it equpment and changed faction colors? Sorry, i do not know how modding works, but retexture the shield should not be so hard. If you are posting a mod you suppose to have some small skill in moddding. Let's see some your later works then. Want to look at your progress.

@communityoffline maybe you didn't realize but this mod hasn't been touched for 4 years.
Also, there's not even a shield of that type without the markings, I definitely looked.

Markings on the shields are sacred and related to Mars, Victoria and so on. These are ROMAN gods. Autor, imagine you are from modern army (maybe you are) and you are at war with someone. And you are wearing a flag and insignia of an enemy state or just wrong country. Or you are christian and wearing green t-shirt with islamic "thing" on it?

glad someone made one of my fav rome 1 units for rome 2 tnks and i will use them to crush the world next time i play as the seleucids

Good news everyone, I will be updating this mod SoonTM to include the ability to upgrade these to Silver Shield Legionary Cohorts after a certain technology is obtained. This will take a while for me to figure out but I wanted everyone who asked to know your voices have been heard.

I just kind of glanced at them in a custom battle. If I had any motivation (Which I don't right now) I'd make these current ones upgradable like the Roman ones.

Cody if you play the first time the Silver Shield Legionaries have a scutum and segmenta lol and use the xipthion sword

Sadly I think my days of making units for Rome 2 are on a long break, at least. I won't say I'm done but I try to go for pretty original units or Rome 1 units, and I haven't thought of any in a while.

Hehe... lets see. I downloaded this mod and make my test for it, If i can get it closer for it and take a look for shield pattern.

I'm torn. For the sake of them looking like the Rome 1 unit, I might change their armor. For the sake of them fitting with the legionaries in this game, I might keep them this way. We'll see.

But you are correct, in Rome 1 they were wearing different armor/helmets than this mod unit. However in Rome 1 they were an exact copy, and as I said, they are an exact copy here too.

I actually tried changing the pattern's color, but it would seem that is not possible without giving them a completely different texture. Also, the silver shield legionaries were an exact copy of Legionary cohorts in Rome 1, so I did the same for Rome 2. It would be weird having the Seleucid legionaries in heavier armor than the Roman legionaries. They are statistically and visually the same besides color and weapon. Also the silver shields get shield wall.

I can suggest that if you make deep research for this unit. You should able to change that shield pattern to another like what it was in Rome 1. Also rome 1 silver shield legionares used another helmet. More like roman gallic helmet and late roman segmenta armour. Also you can make unit more grey color. ;)
