Could you add the ability to buy a box of books as an object? in case enough don't arrive

@heartlandmedia It's possible, I don't believe that any of the mod functions have been changed(as of coding wise) so it all should work normally, only until they remodel/change all of the code then should it not work.

ALSO If anyone wants to finish the mod, I'll gladly let you do it, for I don't really play the game a whole lot anymore, and am more focused on playing with my friends instead!

Updated! Didnt work on the sprites, sorry. I've been somewhat lazy recently... but I'm glad to say that I'll be working on those shortly! Then after that all that's left is perfection!

Hey everyone, sorry that it's been a while since anything has been released and talked about. I have been slightly busy since I turned 18... But luckily as soon as I get home today I will be posting the update excluding textures for now, since I havent had the time to work on those while I've been busy. I hope that you all will enjoy, and remember to share it with friends, and give us advice/suggestions!

Wanted everyone to know that we've been working on a large upgrade and debugged version of the mod. It's not quite ready, but I hope to push a fully functional version this weekend. Here is some of what I've done so far:

- General housecleaning on the files.
- Corrected base-language, so items display correct names in-game.
- Added a class to teach prisoners to work in the Library.
- Added a Librarian to teach the classes and perhaps distribute books to prisoners (still not fully functional).
- Added Library Assistant job, which will be done by trained prisoners to distribute books.
- Expanded functionality of shelves, etc that go in Libraries. They now decrease Reading and Writing need.
- Added a new contraband item: Fake Books. (these are hollowed-out books that prisoners might use to hide things). They can be taken from the Library.

I hope you all can really start enjoying this mod soon! Keep the suggestions coming.

Does this make reading count towards reforming?

If it doesnt automatically do it, then I probably wont take the extra time to do that, unless majority of the people who use it suggest it.

Hey Chris, I looked into your mod data, because I think it's a great idea (I was actually thinking of making a library for myself. I'm a beginner at modding this game, but perhaps we can learn together.I know why the library isn't appearing. There is already a "Library" room defined in the main.dat files, even though it isn't implemented in the game. Change the id from Library to Library1 (or some other name) and it shows up. I did this, and it worked. PM me if you want to work on this together. I noticed a few other things to fix in the mod.

thanks qshannon, gotta say this is pretty hard lol, just seems some of the things arent wrorking as they should even when I type in the options all correct. I can do some things (Currently made the library, but it wont appear) So if any of you could/would take a look in the mod data and help, I'd really appreciate it! You don't have to, but you can :D

I dont know if it is possible, but maybe make it so that prisoners in reform programs, such as learning the workshop and kitchen, can use studying to raise their chance of succeeding slightly?

Also feel free to suggest any name changes, I dont feel that this name will suit once I add a Library, and POTENTIALLY the Law system, with a court and etc.

Dr Placebo, I'm not sure if the reading actually works, and It already takes away the urge to "Study" and the secondary use was to slowly work on either Freedom, Privacy, or Comfort, since I cant randomly choose one of the 3 for each prisoner. Im thinking I might make another need (that has an even less chance, and raises even slower) that some prisoners might want to Write and use that as a secondary need and provder.

As for Orion's comment, I dont believe that's possible unless I use Lua, which Im not skilled in at all, but I know VERY little about (used some in Gmod to get Textres to not work thinking they would) but I can try to see if I can do that! If not I'll find someone to help possibley! :D

and qshannon I think that's a great idea actually, I hadn't thought of it since I worked on it mainly around 6PM-1AM, but I still like the idea, and I think it will work perfectly, maybe even add in a Court potentially, judge, podiums, and even the person who types it all down as a buy-able staff member (Jury duty would be the job)

Is it maybe possible that reading books speeds up their progress with the reform programs?

I like this alot. Always wanted a library. you could even put some legal paperwork and law books.

I have a suggestion for your future work. If prisoners work in the library, they could "deliver" books using the laundry basket, but make it a book basket or something, and it would serve as another job for the prisoners. Perhaps they only deliver books to a cell with a bookshelf. The books would have to full-fill some need perhaps, like the freedom need.

I like this, and really like the stuff you have planned for the future too!

yeah, Still got alot of work to do on it, like Im not entirely sure how to use the texture for the tool "book" from the sprite file, and I gotta work on Library bookshelves, a ladder for decorational purposes (because why not?) and maybe even a job as Librarian :D

Simple, but effective :)
