Yeah, this looks awesome, but sadly I want to keep playing on CE. The vanilla combat system is just too primitive for me.
I might try a CE patch one day, but this looks too advanced for my current skill level.

@Boris_Volkov19 Can't replicate this behaviour with just my mod enabled, so this is likely a conflict.
As for the blade, yes. A pawn with a mechanoid arm has a chance to deal both blunt and cut damage. Given the arm does not disappear due to conflicts of course.

This may be a conflict with CE, but while using the Mechanoid Arms, they have a chance of straight up disappearing if used in melee. Fist combat is fine for one or two punches, then the respective Shoulder & Arm are Removed/Missing causing the pawn to cease attacking. Very likely just a mod conflict due to how CE overhauls melee. Just thought I'd throw it out there regardless of whether this mod is fully compatible with CE or not.

Additional Question: The arms mention that they have a scyther blade. Do these have any intended functionality in melee such as Cut/Slash attacks, or is CE breaking it?

Just looking to shed light on some issues. Not asking for compatibility as CE can be difficult to incorporate. Otherwise, really great mod! I love the concept and you've done well.

@Cormac I am reworking the code so all cases of the recipe failing to provide the loot should be prevented. Will update it today.

ok... whatever this bug is, it is the most weirdest bug i've ever seen:
Version 1.5. modlist: Harmony, Core+all DLCs, drop loot and mechanoid reusing 2. nothing else.

start a colony via dev quicktest.
place a machine table + power generator
finish mechanoid disassembly research via dev mode
spawn X scyther and kill them via dev mode.
create shred mechanoid
save game
scyther are getting shreded and modded materials spawn as intended.
reload game
scyther are getting shreded and modded materials spawn as intended.
reSTART game and load
scyther are getting shreded only steel drops.... no longer any modded materials

there was no change in the mod list, i've retried this 3 times with the same result.

a truly awesome mod, love the new usefulness of dead mechanoids, and so many useful creations. any idea when the updates might be done? (no rush, take all the time you need)

@biguan9 That's probably a conflict. The code checks that the mechanoids are not of the player faction. Weird though.

por alguna razón no esta identificando mecanoides enemigos para desamblar sino que tengo que construir los mios y destruirlos apra obtener el loot .

For some reason it is not identifying enemy mechanoids to disassemble but rather I have to build my own and destroy them to obtain the loot.

ok I think I might have figured it out, certain mechanoids don't drop the pieces. so stuff like centipedes works, but the mechs from say mechanoid plague doesn't do anything.

yeah having the same glitch, shreding doesn't make the new stuff and unlike the others making a new normal bench doesn't work

my suggestion. maybe make a new order to "disassemble" mechanoids so it focus's on scrapping the for this games parts or something

yeah gonna have to agree, I love this mod, but I feel the research being locked behind advanced fabrication is late. Maybe fabrication or hell machining for at least the first part for salvaging. Then fabrication for all the other options so these can be a nice sidegrade or midgrade

I too think that the research being locked behind advanced fabrication is a bit late in the game. It makes sense that the implants and the weapons are locked behind bionics and pulse-charged, but it think that the disassembly and the buildings could be available a bit sooner.
On the flip side, the materials you gain are rather plentiful, and quite valuable. Maybe reduce their value and slightly reduce the yield?

These are just suggestions! I enjoy the mod as it is, and thank you for making it.

On a whim I made another bench and set the shred bill on that and it worked. I haven't gone as far as testing whether or not the pre-research bench is "magically" working as well now but I figured I'd leave a comment here.

@Alty If all conditions are met and the loot still fails to drop then it is very likely that a conflict is happening. However if there are no obvious conflicting mods and no errors are generated there is little I can do I'm afraid.

@Romyashi I don't have the first mod. It's at the vanilla bench (but I have VFE production installed). Mods that modify pawns doing bills is a bit trickier to narrow down. I have FrozenSnowFox Tweaks install but I specifically turned off the mechanoid shredding option. I also have Tweaks Galore which has a mechanoid section but nothing that looks relevant to this.

@Alty If you are positive that you have done the research and the mechanoids are being shredded at the vanilla machining table it might be a conflict. Do you have a mod that modifies pawns doing bills, vanilla machining table or do you have the first Mechanoid Reusing?

I have disassembly researched and I'm shredding mechas at the machining table like always but the new loot doesn't drop. Did I mess up somewhere?

I think it should be WAY lower on tech tree. By the time you can scrap mechs - you already will have way better weapon(energy) and even you own mechs.

@ProfileName As long as mechanoid corpse is used in a recipe by a pawn at the machining table it will drop loot.

Will other mods that affect mechanoid shredding loot affect this mod, or will the loot drop as normal with the body being destroyed by shredding?

@CTH2004 1. Didn't want to add a dependency to the first mod out of the blue. Besides the update probably would be noticed far less if I didn't make it a separate mod.
2. No. The new items are meant to replace the previous ones because I was not satisfied with them.
Consider it as a remake of sorts.
