This is useful... it's a strategy game and this greatly alters the balance of power, making the romulans irrelevant as a threat and annoying to play as.

Even if I were a lore freak (purist), for the game I'd still like to play against factions that can pose a threat, realistically and the starting home worlds are too useful to each faction to lose before each faction has consolidated more planets. In my experience.

This doesn't say much about Star Trek (the Picard series) but of how Paradox grand strategy games work...

Seems i cant resettle anyone from Romulus, any way to fix this?

@Thanatos Prime iirc, even the movie said it was the Hobus system, so if Picard changed it to the Romulan system (or if it was jsut the devs for this game) that makes it extra bad. The best part I liked with the sto mission chain involving the explosion was basically saying the super nova didnt act like a super nova and didnt make any sense, because quit frankly it dind't and showed how badly written the movie was.

Yeah agreed, it was something they brought over from the Kelvin universe movies which didn't make a lot of sense in the prime universe. Except for maybe as Thanatos Prime mentioned, in STO they did integrate it pretty well.

Also, like many I'm sure, this mod is literally the thing I was looking for when I first stepped into the Workshop store.. so thank you :)

I know more of the Romulus destruction from the game star trek online, while its decades after the event, its handled quite well, even linking the overall story of that game with the Iconians, so I have no problems with it.... unless ... its on this game... a sandbox game... where you got no option to ignore or prevent it!

Makes even less of sence since we are playing on the TNG time which is before that. Also It was the Hobus star that exploded, not the one from the Romulus system (atleast acording to the star trek online map, which i assume to be somewhat acurate.

THANK YOU! The super nova plot was a stupid writing trick to explain an even stupider time alteration cause two studios were failing at making money. I was completely aghast that the authors of this game would severely handicap one of the major four factions by turfing it's home planet. I get that it adds a degree of difficulty to playing Romulans, but having it be de-facto unavoidable unles your on your 8th play through and make all the exactly correct research and construction decisions was, in my mind, unfathomably short sighted. without this mod your choice is to just not play Romulans until you are an expert at the game.

I imagine the best course would be to rewrite the event popups for the supernova to end with "Oh, Spock figured out a way to stop it. neat!" and then swapping the backend code to obviously delete the event, but instead give Romulus a permanant "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ we didn't die" buff.

The supernova is a terrible plot for the prime timeline. It would have been an ok plot in an alternate timeline. They should have focused more on the romulan and reman civil war for that era of trek.

the mission chain should be removed. I deleted it. it could get repurposed with new events. adding and editing mission chains seem easy enough to code. I added dominion ships to the end of 1 of the cardassian mission chains. I'm still testing that 1. I took models from the star trek new civilizations mod on the stellaris workshop. I'd probably have to get permission though to release.

Working fine for me. The only issue now is what to do with the Mission Chain that this leaves behind. Thanks though. It makes playing Roms much less annoying.

I love how fast mods are being made.

I wonder how long it will be before a full blown cheat mod is made
