Yeah, I eventually just started reusing the bins- it's not such a big map that it becomes a pain. I feel you on the kismet too lol, I gave up Unreal after looking at 4's blueprint system

I should add that the bin machine in this level will work on the first two uses. After that the machine will start having issues and it will spit out junk more often than not, you can still occasionally get a bin after the first two uses, but the better thing to do is just reuse your bins. In total you have about 4 bins I think. 2 found in the map, and the two you can get from the first two uses of the bin machine. Reuse them and you should have enough to clean the entire map. Also since there's quite a lot of trash, here's a tip I don't think many people are aware of, light a flare and drop it into a bin and it will destroy all the trash in it, like cups, chip bags, etc. I think you can get about 4 or 5 uses out of a bin before it will burn up in the incinerator.

Thanks, I did think about that as well. I probably could have messed around in Kismet to make someway to actually fix it. But I really had no idea where to even begin, back when I made this map I barely had any clue how Kismet worked, even nowadays I don't really know it that well. Using Kismet is basically just visual scripting, and unreal blueprints in ue4 and ue5 are an even more complex version of Kismet with more functionality though. It's really just a massive headache any time you're fooling around with Kismet.

Nice map! I like the heat wave effects, especially on the giant fan. I get the point of the faulty bin machine, but it could be cool if there was actually a way to fix it, like the note says.

There's enough bins found around the map for you to pretty much never have to use the bin machine. I did that intentionally, you're supposed to reuse your bins. Trash can be burnt using flares as well.

Doors are worth trying to open, that goes for any other map.

Anyways, this map is quite old at this point and I made it when I was still relatively new to map making. I don't even really like this map myself tbh. But I still learned from it, and that's all that matters.

Not a bad map, although it has a couple issues. Main being that bin machine- the fact that it only spat out a functional bin every one out of like 8 uses didn't really add much apart from delay and slight annoyance. Also did not immediately know there was an office and that that door opened until I needed the welder and realized I hadn't actually seen one yet.
Was going to comment on the aesthetics until I read you repurposed the map from a water treatment facility into a mine- it's definitely noticeable.

I appreciate the info, but I'm probably just gonna leave it as is. The invisible walls aren't much of a problem I feel, they aren't preventing you from accessing an area or anything. And when I played through the map I didn't have any issues with them. If it's a real game breaking bug then of course I will fix it, but with this it's just kinda pointless to update the whole map again for such a small issue.

Also I was hoping nobody would notice the gloves and brushes. Lol, I don't know why that happened. In the editor they appear normal.

I might fix these issues in the future, I also need to fix the Map Briefing, get rid of some Crates, cuz there's so many of them... etc. This map isn't perfect that's for sure, but I'm working on another project for now. When I finish that I'll probably come back and fix them.

Hey if you are interested in fixing the invisible corners by slosh. you can do a trick that the devs did in rust station east. you can set the meshes to no collision and line some blocking volumes up with it. I get if you dont sounds like a pain. also noticed a small bug. on the incinerator side of the map theres some janitor equipment on a wall and the gloves and brushes are the default material.

Haven't actually played yet but I went in to see what you've done and again another really nice looking map I like the warm feel the map has from the lighting and think the broken bin machine is pretty funny. Nice job!

yeah, that's just how the collision model is for that static mesh. devs made it that way i guess. i suppose it's not meant to be raised up that high, and maybe that's why you notice just how bad the collision is, nothing i can do about it though...

and @A JANITOR, I saw your video. I don't have any issues with the doors. The blood splats can still be cleaned off the door, doesn't matter if they get blood on them or not. Yeah the decal moves around... but eh, it doesn't bother me. I just used the VCMovers because it's simple and easy, no need for complicated matinee or anything like that. I can't be bothered to do all that.

Near the Slosh-O-Matic, there's invisible solid surface in the corner. (A huge square of invisible solid block in the corner. See uploaded image. I literally put a crate on it.)

Just finished with 107% in 1:21:57! Really fun map, just the right size and had no glitches. I also really liked the stacking, it was super satisfying to see all the crates stacked a certain way to have them fit!

if have digsite rocks in a map ya made
the cliff one is fine the round ones have collision holes in em n swallow objects esp bullet shells xd
to fix those export mesh reimport it n auto convex collision 1st slider max 2nd max 3rd 39=40 crash editor
rocks no longer eat stuff also it will now let you pickup said rocks if ya make rocks into debris objects
devs cursed the digsite rocks lol even the ice cave walls in frostbite eat my welder=lol

maybe swap fake welder for blue lightning gun mesh n swap bin dispencer broom for a reall one=

toilet stall doors client side in robot map=vcmover nightmare fuel vs doors off hinges upside down n sideways doors stuck inside stall walls=hahahaha dev made a boo boo in robot map also sentry guns detect everything instead of just j harm welder etc =never got fixed in dev map

get in a lift stain the floor half way up
get to top or bottom=casn't mop stain on floor until lift in exact same position it was when you stained it
stain proof movers=no decal bugs:)
interpactor doors wont phase through ya either just untick stop on encroach box disable static n dynamic decals n set collission to block all
wont bug out in multiplayer either
vcmovers bug out real bad client side
use default interpactor
vcinterpactor collision sux n get stuck on things too

great map has dodgy metal doors maybe hard attackh dynamic blocing volumes to em to stop it phasing through janitors n delete the decals on the doors at least if ya not gonna disable decals on those two doors then ya map pretty much bugless:albedothumbsup:

Yes the landscape is glitchy, I would advise people to pickup the trash and items first, or at the very least try moving them to a flat area of the landscape. The ditch area where Mason died is a bit glitchy, I've had the landscape eat some debris there. So just be careful, landscapes are very glitchy for sure.

I'm leaving the menu pic the same size, as most preview images are the same size already. Official level preview images also cover up the logo. So I don't see much of a need to change that. Map briefing I will fix sometime, it's just annoying doing it, as long as none of the words run off the page, I'm happy. But again, I will fix it at some point.

The fake welder and broom are just decorations. There is a real welder in the repairmans room, where John is found. And there is a broom next to the bucket machine, I believe.

I added a fence to that area you were on about. It'll help prevent burnt bullet holes appearing there. As for flames going down the hallway, I already had nosplat volumes on all those areas. I mean if you're going around burning all the walls and stuff then yeah you're bound to spawn a burnt bullet hole somewhere unreachable. You can do this on pretty much every single official map as well. But since there's only 5 bullet holes on this entire map, there isn't much of a reason to use the welder other than those bullet holes. But again, I do have nosplat volumes, so flame scorches should be under control, and I did add a fence there to help prevent and bullet holes from spawning.

Added a blocking volume to the stairs next to the bucket machine and one on the stairs leading down to the incinerator room.

you got lucky with your landscape no collision holes but
metal stairs that go onto sand can lose objects under stairs shoot welder under stairs in triangular gap spawnd burnt bullt holes n stains under the stairs=cant clean or weld burnt bullet holes under those stairs=unless you as big as an ant to get under there lol

if bugged hills on landscapes eat objects like ya welder or a j harm lol vs the smallest mountain
it doesn't delete em it sits under the visible ground=engine bug
terrain no colision bugs
ya ground seems ok so far but if not flat it gonna eat small objects on ya
vulcan map n unearthly excavation also have a few collision holes in the ground

the good news is she runs nice over 70 fps spikes at 130 fps in some areas
didnt check stacking or notes or mymapinfo maybe double check those n ya all good
walk around with a usb stick n try n make the landscape eat it
landscapes have broken height map collission in this version of udk its on the epic website known bugs list=frostbite still eats cans n bullets pids etc in that ice cave
careful using landscape it gotta be dead flat so stuff not go inside the ground
terrain=no collision bugs

same with fake welder
idea there=
convert fake welder to interpactor n disable decals set to no collision on it and hide it on level loaded toggle hidden
or put invisible material on it
use a switch 1 instance
santa spawner
spawn welder from invisible fake welder mesh
use that breaker switch to spawn a welder
grab welder n use it

would be nice if ya could flush the toilet or clean ya mop in it=both

top3 lines of breif txt you could fit across the clipboard to lose a couple of lines

menu pic is massive can it be made 3 quarters its current size it cover viscera logo up

Nice little map

found a few issues
door to the right of the red vendor phases through me when i open it
make it open inward instead of outward
decals move with doors=delete decals off the doors or make em stain proof n delete the decals on all the movers
go to bucket machine with welder n stand on top of the little box on the boxes
shoot between gap in pipes spawns burnt bullet holes behind the pipes cant clean back side of face hugger pipes lower pipe too low to get in corner n turn around
same spot shoot welder between lower n upper pipe between gap in fence
spawns burnt bullet holes n soot stains behind the fence n goes down hallway=cant clean those or weld burnt bullet holes
put another fence mesh to close gap or invisible cube mesh with static and dynamic decals disabled as those pipes come out from behind the fence=cube to block stains or no splat volume there fix that
