Did you know that the real life 11th century madmen that wielded the ōdachi in the field would usually store the sword on their backs since the length was too great for traditional waist area like the little bitch swords everyone else used. Many of the madmen also had an assistant follow them into battle to unsheathe the weapon for them and hand it to them I'm guessing in some sort of cool flip move parkour routine. I mean because who would want to look stupid trying to draw a sword off your back that is too long to leave the scabbard and you do that awkward off-balance-hop-on- one-foot dance while everyone laughs at you. The Japanese truly are legendary tacticians throughout history.
