I'm relatively happy with the changes paradox made over time - flat landowners strength multipliers were mostly shifted to aristocrat power multipliers which made the additive multiplier more reasonable. Combined with the new unmodded modifiers for having your market opened I won't be making any further changes to this mod, and will continue working on a Japanese politics overhaul to better represent the effects of Japan's market being opened IRL.

It's definitely possible, I can put that in a different mod to keep this one for people who want an experience closer to the "vanilla" experience.

Keep in mind though that the issues with Japan's AI modernizing go deeper than what a straight intelligentsia power buff can solve - Japan's ahistorically low literacy also causes issues with intelligentsia membership attraction, the AI is bad at using construction to modernize (hopefully improved in 1.5), and the monarchy + autocracy law combination is very strong at keeping the shogunate legitimate enough to where the AI won't change the government.

great mod! would it also be possible to give a similar but positive clout buff to the intelligensia? it seems japan is refusing to put them into power even though the shogunate is weakened
