Very sorry for your loss :(
Much belated thanks for your kind support and encouragement!
I like to reply to all commenters, but I've been somewhat pre-occupied over the last couple of months. Hopefully, I'll be able to get back in the swing of things here in the next few weeks.
I had at one point considered removing the Pentarchy option entirely, but I figured people might want to play around with it even if it doesn't work exactly correctly. That said, it's been mentioned in the "Known Issues" section of the description since the initial release.
But if you understand the finer points of how that feature works, and it's not too much of a pain in the butt to implement, I'll see what I can do about updating the code to handle it. It would be nice to get it working, since it's the last remaining non-fully-functional item on the list of Religion commands from the CKII wiki.
Thank you for the kind words. I'm only just getting started!
If, as appears to be your wont, all your wives are also direct dynasts, then, hey--that's some UNLIMITED POWER, right there. Add heir selection and equality to your mix, get your government set up with duchy viceroyalties, and you can probably paint the whole map red exclusively with direct descendents!
I was just givin' you grief, bro! No need to explain. Play the game the way you like to--that's why I published Shiny New Faith! ^_^
In my experience, consistently keeping just four wives will usually give you an unmanageable dynasty, anyhow, just via the usually fertility dynamics. A fair number of modded religions out there allow up to ten wives, so that was why I originally set those up as options. The options provided above 10 wives & 9 consorts/concubines were mostly for the lulz, but could have strategic value with the right configuration.
Having 100 unlanded wives means you end up with a ridiculously massive court--most of whom will have to be invited from other courts--so you'll end up seeing one or two of those wives die from culling every month, unless you use a mod to increase the target court size.
My intent is to eventually make all of the reformation options toggle-able. Right now, Shiny New Faith is just hitting the easy options that can be set with a single documented script command. Both of your requests seem like relatively trivial things to implement. I might set those ahead of haruspicy, actually.
Thank you!
Shiny New Culture is next on my list of priorities and should be fairly easy to implement, just by repurposing the code-generation tool I use for SNF. I'm gonna' start looking into that this weekend.
As for the potential future projects, a new culture variant would be so awesome. :D
The title name issues may be unresolveable, but I'll see what I can do.
Baptisms are probably event-tied to the Catholic faith, in which case it would only require doing what I intend to do with Haruspicy for the baptism event chain. I'm not particularly familiar with that mechanic though, so I can't say I've bothered to look into its operations at all; but it would probably be a fairly trivial thing to include, if my assumptions are correct.
Also, I need to fix the title for those title decision menus. D'oh!
Thank you for the feedback!
Maybe you're better than the other half of that bunch, though, right?
All that aside, I've gotten permission from Bobby the Autistic Ferret (creator of the most excellent Custom Faiths mod) to implement his code into Shiny New Faith. I'm also looking at introducing Astrology and Haruspicy as general menu options, not requiring reformation.
Whatever you're into, exciting things are on the horizon for all of our shiny new faiths!
Also, it really compliments the "incest is Wincest" mod well, making your inbreeding a sacred holy union. Just happened to get both at once & they work well together.
Have you come across any issues?
Thus far, you've been the only commenter, even though SNF has several hundred subscribers.
That might be a good thing, since a substantial portion of most mods' comments seem to be support requests, and Shiny New Faith seems to have had pretty decent uptake in its brief history without any drama.
For all subscribers out there, any feedback would be appreciated. Feel free to be critical.
