Shiny New Faith

描述
Shiny New Faith is the ultimate religion customization utility for Crusader Kings II. Quickly and easily customize almost every facet of any religion in the game. Create the orthodoxy of your dreams. Conquer the heathens with a godly and god-like ruler stat bonus, or play in hard mode by giving your faith's rulers an explicit weakness. Combine with the Custom Faiths mod to be the founder of your own crazy cult.

Armed with your Shiny New Faith, anything is possible!

Features:

- 61 total settings, most of which are independently customize-able.
- Collapsible categorized options menu, completely and neatly tucked away behind the "Shiny New Faith" decision.
- Highly informative tooltips, providing an overview of all available values for each non-toggle setting.
- Easy reset option to return your faith to its former glory, should you decide that your reforms have been in vain.

Usage:

- Scroll to the bottom of the Decision menu (Intrigue screen) and activate the "Shiny New Faith" decision.
- Use the expanded menu options to customize your faith to taste.
- Right-click on the coat of arms for a province or holding, and toggle the holder of that title as head of the religion.
- Right-click on the coat of arms for a holding, and toggle that location as a holy site.

Compatibility:

- Requires no DLC.
- Compatible with all other mods, including other religion-affecting mods.
- Can be added to or removed from your mod list without affecting your savegames.
- Not achievement-compatible.

Known Issues:

The Pentarchy toggle sort of works, but it can be buggy, and isn't compatible with all faiths. The default Catholic faith does not appear to be compatible with it, nor does a Catholic-derived Random/Shattered-World faith--anything with a College of Cardinals, essentially. If other faiths have unusual default leadership structures, they'll probably have issues with this setting as well.

Important Notes:

The options provided by Shiny New Faith affect the currently-played character's proclaimed faith alone. They will not affect heresies of that faith or other related faiths, nor will they affect a character's secret faith, if they have one. Other faiths can be modified by either openly converting the current character to a different faith or switching to a character that openly practices that faith.

Shiny New Faith does not allow you to create a brand new faith or heresy. For that functionality, you will need the Custom Faiths mod. The holy site and head-of-faith options from Custom Faiths are effectively repeated in this mod and function identically to their Custom Faith equivalents. If you use CF and SNF together and see two versions of those options in a single context menu, rest assured they do the same things, so either one will work.

While it's possible within the game's mod functionality to declare that a faith has no leader, "no head of faith" was not made to be an explicit option within the "Clergy & Leadership" > "Organization" decision menu for...reasons. The appropriate Shiny New Faith way to declare a faith to be decentralized is to find the acting head of your faith, right-click on the title that defines their eminence, and remove their head-of-faith status. This is incidentally the converse of the process required to appoint a faith head.

Multiplayer:

I tried to avoid issues I could see arising in the MP situation; but I don't play MP myself, so I don't know for certain that there won't be problems.

Multiplayer games SHOULD permit each player to adapt their faiths independently without conflicts, but players representing the same faith will almost certainly encounter some problems if they both both change the faith simultaneously and don't coordinate with each other.

Let me know if you see anything weird occurring with this mod in MP, and I'll look into it. I can't give guarantees on this one, though. If I've been wrong all along about my MP assumptions, there might not be much I can do about your issue.

Localization:

Shiny New Faith is presently only available in English. Future localizations are intended, but for now, I can only support one language. If you would like to collaborate on a localization, let me know in the comments.

Dedicated in loving memory to @ZombieToker420--as he was known on PSN--whose life was sadly cut short after a vehicle accident on December 17, 2021. Shiny New Faith was mostly written in the days immediately prior to his passing but has sat unattended ever since. I'm glad to finally get it out there.

Good man, I wanted to do a similar mod to implement custom holy sites for the custom faith mod, good to see that someone else already did the job :D

Those who can't add nor remove holy site.The holy site only available on temple holding and must be not you who hold the title of that temple, right click on the COA holding

Hi! Just tried out the mod. Somehow I cannot seem to remove or add holy sites of a religion.

I like to reply to all commenters, but I've been somewhat pre-occupied over the last couple of months. Hopefully, I'll be able to get back in the swing of things here in the next few weeks.

I had at one point considered removing the Pentarchy option entirely, but I figured people might want to play around with it even if it doesn't work exactly correctly. That said, it's been mentioned in the "Known Issues" section of the description since the initial release.

But if you understand the finer points of how that feature works, and it's not too much of a pain in the butt to implement, I'll see what I can do about updating the code to handle it. It would be nice to get it working, since it's the last remaining non-fully-functional item on the list of Religion commands from the CKII wiki.

pentarchy button doesn't work, though a pentarchy button doesn't work for any similar mods
