ok, and how do I manually configure the file? Im not very familiar with this

@Gort - Thanks for the kind words! I recommend using Soundproof Walls 2.0 to modify the sound's pitch.

To do this, go to the Soundproof Walls settings menu and create a new entry in the "Custom Sounds" list in the Advanced tab with "sonarambiencebeacon" as the Keyword. From here you can specify pitch and gain multipliers.

@PrinZ_Eugen - Make sure you're the host and the server is running Lua.

If you can't see the menu at all, it means you need client-side Lua.

If you're using a dedicated server you may have to edit the server's Real Sonar config file manually.

in-game menu cannot be used in multiplayer mode of this mod. I want to turnoff the "target players"this option but it not work. whats going on?

The new beacon station sounds are phenomenal, but the high-pitched resonating (The "ringing terrain reveal sound" I guess is the best way to describe it) is honestly kinda brutal. I think you should lower the pitch/frequency of that resonating sound you hear after and between pings.

Apart from that, this continues to be one of the single greatest mods ever made for the game. Thanks for all your hard work!

@filya - As far as I know, none of those mods override sonar terminals, so it shouldn't matter. Still, I would put it above them just so I don't have to think about it.

thanks for the quick response, well, I'm playing with EK, dynamic campaign, more levls content, and it's one of those mods that can change the game. So, should I put real sonar above all these mods?

@filya - Their load order doesn't matter as neither mod overrides an item from the other.

These are the only load order rules:
1. Real Sonar must be placed above any mod that overrides sonar terminal items.

2. Soundproof Walls doesn't override any items so it can be placed anywhere.

Real Sonar is compatible with your 2 mod (Soundproof Walls 2.0) and in what order should it be enabled above Soundproof or below

I LOVE THIS MOD SO MUCH!! <3 it is an absolute must-have in my opinion. I have a question for you though: I was wondering if you can perhaps make a patch for Barotraumatic? As far as I can tell from playing, the reduced damage effects work fine on base game creatures, but those added through mods like BT take full sonar damage and are killed well before they make it close to the sub ;((

Салам, есть какой-то вариантик уменьшить урон (у себя в логах, мб). Простая пробоина и все на лодке откисают, или ремонт каждого в 1к обходится.

@S0le - Hi, thanks for reaching out! I've always wanted to add more sonar variations but the scale of the project has made it hard to justify (currently there's 100 sound files for each sonar type) and the unique mechanics aspect you suggested would likely require porting the mod to C#. Hi! I suspect you might not check the 'Suggest Features' thread often, and I couldn't find another way to contact you directly, so I'm posting my idea here as a comment. Honestly, this is less of a feature request and more of an offer to help.

I'm really inspired by your work, especially the recent Soundproof Walls 2.0 update. I have this ambitious idea for a 'Real Sonar 2.0' where every submarine would have a unique sonar system with its own sounds, mechanics, and identity. I've even started creating some sound assets for it.

I'm an aspiring sound designer. I don't have a huge portfolio of professional experience yet, but what I do have is a lot of enthusiasm and a real obsession with sound design (especially for something like this!). I would love to contribute my skills to a project I'm passionate about.

@Mr. Orgasm - No, I think sound volume is the only setting that isn't synced since the server has no control over sounds. Real Sonar uses a very different system than Soundproof Walls.

It's just my opinion, but would be cool to integrate in your mod Immersive Sonar UI - A Real Sonar Add-On , BUT with less brightness or adjustable/customizable brightness , on the edges of sonar panel.
Maybe a little brighter than in this Immersive Sonar UI - Less Bright (Real Sonar Add-On) .
In my humble opinion it's just too bright. I posted a comments on Immersive Sonar UI - A Real Sonar Add-On about brightness, but didn't get a response.
What's your opinions on this?

@Mr. Orgasm - Yes, I used to have inbuilt compatibility with "Barotraumatic Creature Pack" before it got moved into Barotraumatic. The next time I update Real Sonar it will ignore things like mines correctly. Let me know if there are any other aspects of the mod that you would like to see patched.

@Kongming - The vanilla sonar UI is not blue, that is the shuttle UI.

@ThePhantomX64 - Well I can confirm that Barotrauma runs fine on Linux systems with mods, so it seems likely it will work.

I am mostly asking since as far as I’m aware, SteamOS just uses Linux version of games and mostly games that also have controller support (unless you plug in a keyboard and mouse which is a thing that the Steamdeck supports)

Hey, so I will be having a steam deck very soon. I was curious if anyone has tried the mod with steam deck before because I can’t wait to continue my campaign with the mod. It’s still very fun to play with.
