Thank you both for playing!

@Nobody No-One The colossal size was partially induced by the fact that I wanted this map to retain some of the character of the original PeTI version that I made long ago - this meant that some mildly unnecessary regions were either introduced or exacerbated to match the original layout. The entrance area, for example, probably doesn't strictly need that long grating floor, but this is similar to a structure in the original map. You can look at the original to see what I mean.

Really nice map! I had a bit of a mental block on this one for a while because I thought the cube was useless except for pressing the button, and I thought the only way both players could get to the entrance area with their portals was via the track platform. I solved it relatively quickly after deconstructing those assumptions, but it still required me to talk myself through the logic and work backwards much more than I usually have to do in SP. My only surprise was that funneling yourself from the laser area to the area with the floor surface was never required. I do have to wonder if the map could've been shrunk a bit; the entrance area especially is very large for its role in the logic. Regardless, big thumbs up!

Ditto what Mattchew said, this map goes hard

The beauty of this map is obscene. Love the end sequence, the cube blocking, funneling than null portal is nuts. Personal favorite co-op map so far, faved!

Thanks ObvOwl! I'm very happy to hear that this made a nice start for you.

I finally got around to playing a coop map lol. This was a great intro for me, fantastic work!

Thank you both! Glad to hear you liked it.

@| \_/ () I remember noticing that when I was testing - very strange indeed!

The layout makes it look more complex than it is, it's actually relatively simple. And yet, me and my brother needed at least 20 minutes to figure it out. Really clever, we liked it a lot.

Also, why do I (re)spawn facing the wall? That was weird :D

Got stumped at slow draw and got stumped at this one !
Once again a great logical map and beautiful design  Favorited !

Thanks for the heads-up, you're a good sport.
I'm looking forward to the challenge and progress! (For science! xD)
Aneonen  [作者] 2023 年 2 月 5 日 下午 2:30
Thanks for sticking with it ChaosNe0! I'm glad to hear you made it through; realizing that having one player on the upper layer isn't 'perfect' progress certainly takes a jump. I appreciated hearing your thoughts about it - author's curse means I don't get to experience these maps blind, haha.
Practice does make perfect! I hope you weren't too intimidated by the difficulty rating - everything can get squashed down by how high the complexity ceiling for these puzzles can get. As a light warning, most of my other (modern) puzzles are (probably) tougher than this one, but my earlier ones shouldn't be as complex and there are plenty of other places to build up skill in a fun way!
ChaosNe0 2023 年 2 月 5 日 下午 12:44
I just checked it and it works like a charm!
This is a very cool test-chamber. I'm not too skilled, so for me the difficulty was more like 6/10 to 8/10, so I guess I'll just practice with your other test-chambers. :)

Oh my, yes! I think I know what you're hinting at!
The laser-player goes around, loses their portals, helps the funnel-player to the laser-emitter, sets the laser portal, goes to the laser-elevator and then the funnel-player disrupts the laser with the cube to lower the elevator-platform temporarily!
Thank you very much, confirming the laser-player's next step was to abandon their post and help the funnel-player. That was the critical part I didn't think of!

Also, I had the idea of using the cube to disrupt the beam earlier, but I discarded that thought after noticing the beam is too high up to just put it in the way .

I hope I didn't just ramble something that won't work, because I couldn't test it so far (and don't want to spoil my fun by watching the solution-video just yet).
You're doing awesome fanservice here, thanks a lot!
Aneonen  [作者] 2023 年 2 月 5 日 上午 7:42
No need to apologize - this information is helpful for me too!

Here's a hint: So far you've made some good deductions! The question you're asking at the end is a critical one. Indeed, tasking the funnel-player with placing the cube on the shelf, getting a portal on the funnel source, and standing at the laser emitter seems like just too much work for one person to achieve alone...

In particular, the laser-player is going to have to return all the way around to help the funnel-player get into position. But what comes down must go up, and the laser-player will need to return to the upper area once more to execute your end plan. But how could you achieve this without burning all four portals around the laser emitter like the first time?

If my hints are too obtuse, I've also attached a solution video to peek at if you like. Good luck!

(Part 2)
We can get the cube on the shelf and the laser-guy up in the glass-box, but we cannot get the funnel-guy out of there without using their portals, ruining the setup.
In my latest idea the laser-guy makes a portal directed at the button so that the funnel-guy can walk through, place their second portal (where the funnel shall come out) if it has been used and get it replaced by the laser-guy to close the funnel-portal. The laser-guy can then activate the laser and once both players stand on the elevator, the funnel-guy set their last portal to direct the funnel at the cube, which has been lifted from the shelf and floats towards the button.
But how do we get the funnel-guy from the cube-drop-button-platform to the laser-emitter?

Thank you, @Aneonen! Your help is very much appreciated!
(Also, please apologize my spam. I have to split it in two comments due to steam-community-post-comment-restrictions.)

In the end, we need to stand on the elevator and then hold down that button, so we think we need one person to have a closed portal (null-portal) ready for the funnel to pass through and the other person needs to have placed their portals keeping the funnel active. That means we need to put the cube ready in front of the funnel-portal, as we can't place it in the funnel while standing on the exit-elevator.

@NLuziaf It is with deep sorrow that I must inform you that the referenced character's outfit was not the inspiration for this coloring.

@ChaosNe0 Thank you for playing! I'm glad you've been enjoying it - it's certainly tricky! I would love to provide some hints, but I would need you to tell me ( in spoiler tags ) where you are in the puzzle. What has your thought process been so far? Is there anything you're stuck on in particular? Are there any strategies you've been trying that don't seem to be working?
ChaosNe0 2023 年 2 月 4 日 下午 4:28
Very nice map, both visually and logically. My friend and I don't get it, though. Could you provide some hints? Or a solution-video? I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks and keep making such awesome maps! :)
NLuziaf 2023 年 2 月 3 日 上午 8:10
The exit room kind of reminds me of a Minecraft Story Mode (S2) character's outfit...
Aneonen  [作者] 2023 年 2 月 3 日 上午 7:17
Yes - everything unique in this map (excluding the fancy lights) is semi-specialized work made by me and imported through the format of custom packages.

@Aneonen Its all ucps right?
Aneonen  [作者] 2023 年 2 月 3 日 上午 7:02
I made a copy of my standard funnel item and rotated it in Hammer, along with a couple other small changes.
klaus.sfc01 2023 年 2 月 3 日 上午 4:54
How the did you make an angled funnel?
