Guys, the mod is just xml files, it works despite the version warning. Just edit the About.xml file if you don't want to get the version warning.

@turkler Well, RimWorld wiki says techprints could be spawning also in Ancient Shrines and Ancient Complexes which would make sense.

I might give it a go, I usually play peaceful anyway and I might check whether I can find these there as well.

@lexcpa324 yes, each research projects shows you where you can obtain the tech prints. a bit surprising I have to say this, the description of the mod very clearly lays this out. I recommend a reading aid

Wondering if it would be okay to release a fork based on this mod? I mostly added a bunch of techprints for vanilla technologies, and currently have it as a local copy.

hello. been using your mod for a while and i find it to be the most balanced and genuine in the ways of fun/balance (tried all the others research rebalance mods).
I want to suggest an idea to patch VFE:pirates warcaskets technology to be locked without techprint as well.

@turkler It works halfway, RR:SS divides electricity research into several different research paths, so with this mod electricity does not require a technical footprint, otherwise it works as intended.

Any chance to add it to traders from 'El's Rebel Alliance' and 'El's Ilk of the Old Gods'? Also I did manage to find a Sanguophage trader with a faction I have and it did have the tech print! So yay there!

@femoral2 I intentionally skipped that because this mod is basically meant to be used with my other mod that makes gunpowder a prequisite for gunsmithing. it might seem odd at first, but having access to muskets and the like before guns is intentional, it gives the player a good reason to use those instead of just skipping those in favor of guns.

@megabot works for both really. it's just a barrier between the tech levels. it'd be a bit harder with ce since guns are just more powerful in ce but I still could make it work just fine. remember that you can still salvage and loot weapons/ammo, you just can't manufacture them yourself.
