TLDR: Vest suspenders are invisible and there's a bandaid fix. Changed the material's translucency, used $basetexture to make it white, then a vector 3 $Color to color it. (0.4 0.36 0.34 belt color, 0.3 0.22 0.2 suspenders color) This tutorial link should help with color changing but NOT with changing the material's translucency.

When you get the proper textures displaying right, the UVs are just slightly off. This is what gives you those "black splotches" I've been seeing people comment about. They're from the blank areas of the textures. I tried shifting the texture but it was warping strangely, so the UVs might be gunked up.

Regardless of some minor issues, these models are fantastic- I just wish it could have been a simple tweak of the cloakfactor like I thought it'd be TwT

Band-aid fix:
Transparent: Open medic_lens.vmt file in notes > put "//" at the beginning (farthest left) of "$translucent" line > save
This will make it opaque. If you plan to use the special medic glasses with the nice lenses, you can just get rid of those forward slashes and revert it to normal.

Override Materials: In SFM, right click model in hierarchy > "Add Override Materials" > "Show in Element Viewer" > "Model"

White texture: Click plus on "+materials" > click plus on "+medic_lens" > right click "+medic_lens" > "Add Attribute" > "String" > name it "$basetexture" > type file location of blank white texture to the right of $basetexture

Color: Right click "+medic_lens" > "Add Attributes" > "vector 3" > name it "$Color" (capital letter is important for some reason) > to the right of $Color, you should see a "0 0 0" (R G B) and your suspenders should turn pitch black > modify the numbers from 0 to 1 (higher is emissive)

Well, I found the "fix" for the broken models. Just go to MaxofS2D's site and download the casual medic model from there. The readme has info on how to install it. Medic's suspenders aren't invisible, and no weird black patches.

Wish this was an actual in-game cosmetic :(

To the people wondering how to fix the black parts, Resubscribe to the models, and redownload them. Make sure to uninstall them from sfm first, then resubscribe. It fixed it for me.

Uninstall and reinstall the models and they should work just fine, I did that and the black parts on the models have disappeared.

I think it is time for us to accept this is not gonna get fixed.

Medic has a "sleeves" body group. I don't know if they are supposed to be shaded black or they are supposed to be tinted white.

Hey, have you considered making these models paintable? Like, the shirt and so on. Pte Jack on Steam made all the usual HWM models paintable. (Which is cool!) I'd love those casual models to be paintable too. If you have the knowledge and time to make that possible, could I give you something in exchange? I don't just wanna beg it from you. :)

I wish it did. :( I love having the Medic in his socks. But I'll still use the model.

Hopefully, the blackness around the arms, and for the body groups (the socks and the shirt with out the vest, etc.) will be fixed soon. :)
